My baby is born, VIN 1049

I was just notified yesterday that my 2SS is alive and well and working its way toward the dealership. I am so freakin excited about driving her home. All I have to do now is get out of Iraq and get back to VA to take delivery. I fear it may be a display on the showroom floor until I can return.

Here is the link to the window sticker:

I hope to get pics of it when it gets to the dealership to post up. I am surprised there are not more posts of members with VIN's, considering the number produced. Are dealers suckin up many of the preorder SS builds that are already made?

CONGRATS! Feels good doesn't it. Except for the waiting.....and waiting......and waiting.

In the end it will be worth it. We'll have to get them together on the NC/VA line somewhere and get some pics. Are you gonna try not to put the VA front plate on?

The more things change, the more they stay the same. In early 1968 the performance optioned 68 Camaro RS I ordered from Vietnam arrived at the dealership before I got home. The salesman called my Dad and asked him to please come get the car. It seems the slimeballs in the service department were taking it out for "test drives". Be specific with them on how you want YOUR car treated.

Thanks for your service. And Welcome Home.

Waiting sux!! Been doing that a long time, but yes it will be worth it.

NC/VA border is not that far from me, sounds like a plan. I did not know it was an option on the front plate. Any info to share?

You are about 476 on that list. LOL! I have more offers for that service than I care to count, but the answer is always the same. No one drives tha car before I do. And I cannot wait to do that! But I live in the Lynchburg/Amherst area.

well that's not all too far from me if the other 475 people flake on you

there is no legal option for no front plate, but i haven't had one on my car for the last year with no problems. I even got stopped for expired tags and he didn't see i had no front plate

You can bet I will be. I am waiting for the delivery date and will lay it on the line to them. They better honor my mandates or they will have very serious problems with me when I do return to take delivery.

I am really looking forward o getting back. Can't wait to get behind the wheel of that car.

Thanks.

Cool! Man, what a great thing to look forward to when you get back. Nice color, too. There's nothing like the feeling of knowing a brand new muscle car was built just for you.

A good investment, too! Who knows how many will come off the line before they pull the plug...

As much as this may be true if they pull the plug, I do not have any desire to see the Camaro or any other GM vehicle out of production because of the current economy. It would be a truly sad day to see the Camaro pulled so soon after it was reborn! In my opinion, let there be a Camaro population explosion!!!!!
