New Camaro, a MY2009 or MY2010?

The title says it all. Production late next year, available for sale early 2009. Technically they could call it a 2010. Do we know yet?

I don't know for sure but I would like it to be a MY2009. That way it would be a 60 year spread from my 1949 UHP Car. Seeing as my 5th Gen Camaro will be Marked and Equipped as a UHP car, regardless if they offer a B4C option or not.

So the "early to late quarter of 2008" (not exact quote) is still likely?

Why can they technically call it a MY2010 if production starts late next year and it is available for sale early 2009? Am I missing something? I've heaqrd nothing but MY2009.

It will be a MY2010, but sold early 09.
They did this with the GMT900 suv, calling them 07's in first quater 06
Same with GMT 900 trucks calling them 08's in late 06 to early 07.

Kinda gives it the advantage. Why buy an 09 Mustang when you can have a NEWWER 2010 Camaro!!

Dont try to push it even later.

2009 AT THE LATEST, rather in late 2008 as a 2009 model would be good

If they go with MY 2010, I dont believe it can be made available prior to 1/1/2009.

This is correct. Several cars and trucks thru the years have been done this way. January 1st 2009, they can legally sell a vehicle and call it a 2010 model.

BTW, I check in here to CamaroZ28.com every few weeks to get the latest news on the 5th gen F-body. Just wanted to thank everyone for continuing to update with info. Yes, I will be buying.

The 5th Gen is not an F-body, at least not that anyone knows of yet.

Why not? "F-body" was just a designation. No reason why they can't call the new platform an "F" body.

Production and "on sale date" are two different things. The new Tahoe went into production in December 2005 but was not officialy available for sale until January 10th 2006 as an '07 model.
