It is definitely getting closer to production, that is for sure.

I think it is a piece of green paper taped to the dash.

Yeah, it's just a green piece of paper taped to the dash.

What's funnier is the last pic (the front end shot). If you look closely at the air induction slot, you'll see a red light in there.
I was like, "is there a red light in there?" It looks as if they turned the car into a KITT.

But it turns out that it's just a reflection of the brake lights from the car in front of the Camaro.
It's like they planned it. Kinda funny.

Okay, let's try to figure out where this car is.

In the above picture, I see a McDonalds, a sign for something along the lines of a KFC, and a larger building (possibly a strip mall type thing) with a sign that looks like it says "Meadow Valley State ____".

Anybody recognize the location?

I too thought that the red light might be a dig at KITT at first, but on closer inspection you're right - looks to be just a reflection.

I'm assuming that the SHUNT is an electrical shunt. They're probably still testing some wiring systems and have the shunt onboard to bypass those systems if anything goes wrong.

Definitely looks much closer to production. I'd say the gauge faces are the real deal 100% the way they're illuminated and everything.

Those who hate the interior design will still hate this, but it certainly looks more finished.

It certainly looks more finished. I'm happy with the interior design. Initially, I wasn't thrilled with the tach and speedo on the concept, but it looks like GM has cleaned them up in the production version. I'm really glad that the auxilliary gauges are in the same position as the concept's. It's a really cool feature. The digital display in the dash is nice too.

And most importantly....check out the cupholders! They appear to have a better position that the 4th gen's. This will be great for when you get the XXL drink at Taco Bell.

The wheels appear to be for the V6. It's nice that the V6 will get a 20" wheel option.

It is a Michigan plate, but here's the thing...Michigan doesn't require front plates. However, due to the Woodward Cruise, people can buy "fake" plates that say CRUISIN to put on the front. I think that is what that plate is.

Regardless, I will bet that it is downtown Milford.

I take it you've never owned a car with the gages in this location?
With your hands in the proper position on the steering wheel, your arm blocks the gages. If you buy a stick then your hand blocks the gages when your shifting. In any case it's very difficult to do a good scan while driving with the gages buried under the radio.
I don't see a cup holder? I see a cup, but it doesn't appear to be in a holder. In any case if you shift for yourself you can't have a cup behind the stick, of any size. On my 97 I have to use the Passengers cup holder.

I would say production shaped , I still dont see any final textures yet on much of anything , so its still pretty rough at best . Im glad to see the car still looks good with normal size wheels , if the SS ( base v8 whatever it is called ) has 20's they will be the first thing to go bye bye .
