Not to complain but this means that the G8 GXP will have more HP that the Camaro SS. I suspect they have had to make some compromises because of CAFE.

The GXP is rated at 415hp. Yes more than the L99 but less than the LS3.

Great #'s throughout the whole engine lineup. The camaro's Ls3 is within 4hp and 4lb-ft of tq of the Corvette's .

Cool! Looks like the L99 gets a bump in torque, was listed as 395 lb originally! Still thought that they might be able to get at least a few hp more on the L99, but 400/410 is nothing to really complain about nor is it a slouch!

That means the LS3 makes 1 more pony than the SRT8 Charger/300/Challenger 6.1 hemi.

I am quite sure that point was not lost on GM powertrain!

Would have been nice if the LS3 was rated at 427 hp in the Camaro since that number has a great place in history for Chevy fans.

Either way it's good to see the hp numbers going up and reaching their Vette spec numbers.

Totally true. I for one, think the V6 Camaro might be a very competitive car in it's class for SCCA autocrossing. Remember, a 1998 LS1 Camaro Z28 was rated at 305 HP.

That, is really amazing.

LS1 ratings and what it actually produced were totally different things. Not to mention there is a huge difference in torque numbers.

Most certainly is!

Although vehicle weight and modest torque means it will be nowhere near LS1 in acceleration, if the V6 Camaro top speed is ungoverned, the new base Camaro V6 should have a top speed between 155 and 160 mph!

I am stoked the hp number for the LS3 jumped to 426. I so wish they would have hit 427 to match my buddy's Roush Mustang 427R. Hopefully the Camaro will be faster though. If it is I'm sure his next step will be changing the pulley on the supercharger.
