Thumbs up

I can't wait to see just what the LS3 Camaro can do with all that power! I would love to see a pro driver take another shot at the Nurburgring in a production SS, see if they could drop the lap time down below the 8 teens.

I wonder what they really were. I've seen estimates of 325-335 for the 1998 models and up to 340 for the 2001-02 models.

I'm going to be that it is really the exact same. Unless the difference in air intake and exhaust routing scrubs off the 4hp. Except for the 436hp vette version with the optional different exhaust.

Intake, exhaust.

My guess is that the intake causes more difference than the exhaust, since both the Camaro and the Corvette have true duals.

So a nice K&N CAI would probably at about 20+hp on top of that. Throw in a nice aftermarket free flow exhaust, and bingo, you are looking at 450hp. With little spent.
I'll bet getting 425hp to the rear wheels will be easy to do.

I'm leaning towards GMMG chambered...I'm sure they'll come up with something.

I doubt it. 20 hp would be outrageous for a CAI.

I would not buy a completely new exhaust for this car unless you are sarting with longtube headers and working back. The car comes with true duals. Just buy the mufflers of your choice and have them welded in.

Longtubes were actually pretty high up on the list as far as mods go, and would probably be done at the same time as the exhaust.

And CAI on 400+ HP might very well produce something close to that. The more you start with, the more of a potential increase you could see.

Why? K&N claims 21.09hp increase for the 5.7 Hemi Charger/300/Magnum. And have dynos to prove it.

I have the K&N CAI on my Charger and it sure feels like at least 21hp to my butt dyno.
If the stock intake is very restrictive then there is no reason that you could not gain that much with a free flowing COLD air intake. Look what a differrence just a lid made to LS1 Fbodies. I also have a 99 LS1 Trans Am and SLP claims 8-10hp for thier lid. http://www.ws6project.com/user_stor/...oducts_id=2520 That's JUST a lid, not a CAI. Not to mention that awesome sound you get with a CAI.

are those true RWHP numbers? or is that to the crank? some dyno machines are more of a crank hp dyno( dynojet). mustang dynos are more RWHP #'s.

im putting on a cold air intake that gets me over 130hp.............its called PROCHARGER!!!!
