that thing is SICK! if i had the 100k to blow on it i would buy it. i mloving the look and the whole concept of it. very bad ***. i would even be perfectly fine with it if they were to just put the stock ls9 in and not tweek it or even the cts-v motor. that will be one bad *** car to see on the streets.

LOL. That's pretty funny.
well you have to remember the mustang that people say that about are from the factory stock. this is nt from the factory. now if you look at the saleen mustangs and rousch and whoever else, they are selling the mustangs at the 70+k range. this car would obviously smoke those mustangs and i thing the package would be worth it. as long as the warranty or some kind of warranty stood. granted people may not like the name "hennesey" but they do some pretty good work. they wont be the only company making this car combo. thisis just the begining. makes me wish i could wait to place my order to see who comes up with what next.

What are you basing that on? The reason people don't like the name is because Hennessey has a reputation for either doing shoddy work or not doing it at all.

No, I'm pretty sure that over-priced Mustangs (Saleen, Roush) aren't worth it - just like over-priced Camaros (Hennessey, et al).

My opinion, of course. Yours can be different.

Yep. A significant portion of that money pays for the name and exclusivity.

Camaro 2SS: $34,180
Cammed LS9 engine: $20,000 (probably less)
Sell the original engine, wheels, tires, and brakes: -$20,000
Carbon-ceramic brakes: $15,000
Wheels and tires: $5,500
Hood: $2000
Full suspension: $2400 (based off the Pedders prices)
Carbon-fiber body kit: $5000
LS9 hockey stripe: $500
Labor: $5000
1-day performance driving course: $2000

That comes to $76,580, leaving $32,920 in pure profit per car. My projected prices are based on retail and are probably higher than Hennessey's actual cost, so the profit is most likely even higher.

I'd much rather build one up myself, save a ton of money, and skip out on all the crap I don't want (the hood, the body kit, and the stripe).

it sounds like the plans they have for the camaro are pretty good plans and definately would be worth it. i know some of the car packages i was looking at, were pretty foolish. like takingout the ctsv motor for a 550hp ls7? not a good idea. but there were quite a few that had good things done for a reasonable price, if your in the market to pay to have your work done. i know on the vipers they do amazing jobs. hey all im saying is, its pretty cool alot of people want to add the camaro to their list of cars to build up. to each his own, but i think it sounds awesome.

I've read on other car forums that the Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes retail for $27,500, but I've never found a place that actually sells them. But then again, I haven't looked too hard for them.

no doubt there not worth it. i would never pay that much for a car that someone did work to. i would rather do it myself and build my own package.

i dont know what you do for a living, but thats just the name of the game. if you want some of these big names to work on your car, you gotta pay for it. for example: orange county choppers, when they started on discovery channel. they charged 200k for a bike to be built on the show. that got the bike ,advertising and a show for that company. after years of being on tv and building their reputation, its over800k to have a bike made by them and be on the tv sereis for 1 episode.is it worth it? no. thats just how the game is. you want the MAN to build something for you? you have to pay for his services and name. whether you think hes worth it or not.

They were a $15,000 option on the Ferrari from which they came, until Ferrari started including CCB's standard on all models last year. Brembo is working on increasing production and decreasing cost.

A lot of times manufacturers let tuners see cars in detail before others so that they can be ready with their products. I really hope GM didn't let hennessey near their cars.

That's just the thing -- I don't want any of those big names to work on my car, in large part because they're so expensive.
