Arrow NEWS: Artist createst indelible Camaro graphics with Sharpie markers

Filed under: Coupe, Etc., Chevrolet, Design/Style

Remember the Sharpie Lamborghini Gallardo from 2007? A Chevrolet Camaro has been given a similar treatment courtesy of Maryland-based professional pinstriper Chris Dunlop. Stepping away from his cans of paint and fine brushes, Dunlop has created two magnificently detailed Sharpie tapestries where the original pinstripes would have been.

According to LSX TV, Dunlop says this Camaro is the fourth car he's decorated like this, and others have followed. Ten pens gave their lives to the cause of art, as well as a few layers of clearcoat to make sure the ink remains permanent. If you happen to think you could do this at home to your own ride, have a look at the detail shots in the gallery - a Sharpie isn't just a marker in Dunlop's hands.Artist createst indelible Camaro graphics with Sharpie markers originally appeared on Autoblog on Mon, 17 Oct 2011 13:00:00 EST. You guys don't like it? I think it is one of those things that is damn cool to look at...but I don't think I'd ever do it to my car. Some good talent there, regardless.

Thumbs down Re: NEWS: Artist createst indelible Camaro graphics with Sharpie markers

Looks to me like a design found on old men pajamas. Does nothing for me.

I think that is damn impressive whether you like the design or not. He is using a Sharpie! That is talent if I have ever seen it.

I appreciate the tremendous talent and the art that it is but wouldn't want it on my car.

I agree on the talent part. Not on the tastes.

I clicked on the link to check out the Lamborghini and that one is pretty tacky. Parking the Lamborghini between what I am assuming are old wharehouse buildings or storage makes it worse. A place a dumpster might have been hidden. From the back the Sharpie art just out of focus looks like the Lambo hasnt been washed and is really dirty. From the front although I am sure the car is as clean as you can get a car with marker all over it it matches the dirty Walls its parked between. Something that looks like was not lost on the photographer.
