Not necessarily. They can always take three production cars and have them specially modified for the contest. Happens all the time. For example...

Actually I disagree. Because of GM's involvement with the movie from the get-go, I think it does in fact mean that there will be a Bumble Bee Edition available.

This concerns me because due to its "availability" early on, it most certainly won't be the "top dog" model, which means once again GM is going to screw up and put Z/28 stripes on something other than a Z/28. Perhaps they're going to do like Ford and offer a stripe package that can be placed on everything from the base V6 on up.

Jazz really didn't have much to do with the movie and wouldn't warrant his own edition. Plus Pontiac does not yet offer a hardtop version of the Solstice.

Bumblebee was the star of the movie. I'm intrigued by they way they said, "Bumblebee Camaro".

 

I think people are reading too much into this. It just sounds like they're going to pull three Camaros off the line and make them look like the movie car. I wouldn't even begin to expect this to mean that there's going to be a "Bumblebee edition" available at your local dealer.

 

If Chevy plans to release the car with yellow as an available color option, the Bumble Bee edition won't be far behind -- even if it is just a dealer sticker up option.

Ford painted the Mustang in Grabber Orange, so I don't see it out of the question that Chevy would release a Bumble Bee yellow.

However, I don't think this contest sheds any light on the production version though -- they could just as easily pull three off the line and paint them as they could offer the paint job to the general public for the production car.

Heck, they could even use this as a test to see if they should offer the paint job or not.

It does show our hunger for any bit of information though.

If you've ever actually seen "Bumblebee" - you know that his paint is 'special' -- so it's unlikely you'll see a "Bumblebee" edition in volume in that color on dealer showroom floors -

That said -- there will be more info. forthcoming after the actual contest is out there -- and the vehicles that will be won are production Camaros -- specially painted in the Bumblebee color..........

..........so those WILL be collector cars!

I haven't seen a Bumblebee in person - how is the color special? Is that why it looks orange in some pics and yellow in others?
