Earlier this evening at the GM Style event held in a big tent next to their Renaissance Center headquarters, the automaker publicly unveiled the new Camaro Convertible concept. It's basically a metallic orange open top version of the coupe they showed last year. We posted a mega-gallery of official shots a few days ago, and more details will be coming tomorrow from the show. Until then you can enjoy the new gallery of live shots.

I think it is just the angle of the car and the lighting but it almost looks like the wheels are paint matched to the stripes. Hadn't thought about it but it is kind of a neat idea. But i've heard mostly negative things about the big wheels anyways and i love them.

I loved the 3rd Gens that had the wheels color matched to the car. I'd love to see that on the 5th Gen.

I liked that appearance feature as well. If GM can pull it off and make it look good, I wouldn't mind seeing something like that done on the 5th gen.

I was there yesterday, Saturday, from about 2pm-8pm, I have to say I was a little disapointed that there weren't any notable changes other than the open top. And not even close to the same size crowd around the Camaro, despite the friendly model, annoucer person..
While in Ford's stable a Killer new Mustang was on the turntable, "Mustang Italiano by Giugiaro" ...it was a sleek, sexy, orange beast!...and a large crowd around it. I've seen pics of it, but it's even better up close!..I really could say much negative about it...except no side mirrors, but it looked like camera's replacing them?..
And, being the 100th aniversary of NAIAS, I expected more from them as well. But to me, and my wife, it was a far cry from last year's show. The cars were spread out more, less tech displays, and lots of empty space.
And even, No "Challenger"!..it went to New York.
