I don't know, but based on the price of the kit, I doubt it. I'd like to find out for sure, and I will try.

The thing that I always go to with this is that the Chevrolet engineering and design team had zero doubt in their mind that people wanted t-tops. It was loud and clear. They tried to make them into the vehicle, but they ran into obstacles:
  1. Increased cost
  2. Increased weight
  3. Reduced safety
  4. Some of the above
  5. All of the above
It was determined that any of the scenarios above to be detrimental to the car, which I am sure that everyone can agree on.

This case in point shows that yes, it can be done...but which of the above choices are baked into the kit? Definitely option 1. I think it would be awesome to be just that one...but I will find out if I can if option 2 and 3 also come into play. I really hope not!

If you have access, give the part right above the side window (I think it is called a roof rail, right?) on any 5th gen Camaro a good hard punch. Go ahead, really take a shot at it because you won't easily do any damage. It is a very, very stout piece. In this conversion, that piece is gone. I am definitely curious.

This is the first I heard of GM ever considering T-tops for the 5th gen.
Is this new news? Or at least new to us?

Another question:
If this T-top car is at SEMA, and everybody oohhs and ahhs over it, will GM do anything about it?

No, I have mentioned before that they wanted them as much as anyone else, but they ran into obstacles.

I wouldn't think so, I would guess that is is no longer a consideration.

Then again..."never say never"...

Actually, I think it looks better than I thought it would and I was always in favor if it. There have always been trade-offs with a t-top car, yet they were always incredibly popular.

I did indeed talk to these guys at SEMA. Very nice folks. The long and short of it is that it is reinforced on top and bottom so more weight is added, but no crash testing was mentioned.

Craftsmanship was very good, no question it was a pro job.

I really like it as I feel this was something that should have at least been an option on the 5th Gen. Now if they could do something to make the tail lights and rear end of it look better...

I like it actually...
The only thing we're missing is more pics from different profiles to be able to appreciate better.
I'd love to see one in black!

I wonder what their crash testing results are? Maybe I will ask them at SEMA.
Im assuming you figured it out. If not, try making the B Pillar visible like a 3rd or 4th gen. Then if you can turn the C pillars into the rest of the back window. You may even be able to make a C6 B pillar and C6 hatch glass work. Then see if it looks a little more correct to you...

Still not something Id want but the craftmanship looks good...

Not for me. And my 94 has em'. I just don't think they work on the 5th gen, it's obvious why they don't come that way.
