Arrow NEWS: Hey 2010 Chevy Camaro RS, What Are You Doing Here? [BLUE PAINT]

An editor over at Cars.com, driving between Chicago and Detroit, noticed a bright blue 2010 Chevy Camaro RS just hanging out at a gas station outside of the Motor City. We're assuming the manufacturer-plated car is probably either an early pre-production model or from GM's captive test fleet. Either that or a cash-strapped GM decided to save money by not advertising the car's release and there are a bunch of them sitting at Chevy dealerships where they'll likely never be discovered. Probably not. [Kicking Tires]

I take it that is the Aqua Blue Metallic that people hated from the photoshops... What have people been saying all along, Wait until you see it in person...?

I kind of agree with CTK1. It looks better than I thought it would, but 10 years from now, it's going to look cheap. It's just not a good paint mix. It looks... cheap, for lack of a better word. There's no dimension to the paint at all.

Did anybody else notice the large gaps between the hood and front fascia? I hope that production cars will not suffer the same problem.

Looks great, happy to finally see it. Not nearly as 'hideous' that people were claiming it was, and is one of my top choices for the color I'll put on my car.

That Michigan overcast lighting is about as bad for dark colors as any there is so if it looks acceptable there it'll look much better in good light.

No imaginary light conditions will help that color, it's the most sorry, lackluster hue of blue I've seen in my life....some of you may recall this color from various Alero's, Grand Prix's, Geo's, and the like. Nice work GM, if you think this color will sell Blue, you're going to be discounting alot of them....right when you can't afford to. This color looks very, very cheap and I would bet dollars to doughnuts that GM knows this, and this is the exact reason it wasn't offered for the SS initially.

Ford got it right...how hard was that? GM has the color palette...use it!

Ford has done well on the blue hues used on the Mustangs recently. Atlantic blue on the '98s was a great. Sonic blue on the 03 Cobra was amazing and it looks like they have kept that tradition alive on the 2010.

We can hope! Fit and finish doesn't always apply to pilot cars when compared to the level of a full production run vehicle.
I believe that the 1993 Camaro was one of the first (if not THE first) production vehicle to use laser cameras to measure body fitment, etc. Since the quality then is not as good as it should be today, they won't likely allow this car to be worse than 15 years ago, and they won't likely let a car leave the assembly line with pieces obviously not fitting...even when being noticed through a low-res camera phone image.
