Yes - the new Camaro will have a B-pillar. BUT - it isn't noticable from the outside. Think of a first gen with the rear window in the up position. The rear window will cover the B-pillar and there will be a weatherstrip attached. The B-pillar is necessary for several reasons -- the most important being:
>reduction of mass
>structural rigidity

And let's face it guys and gals -- if the Camaro doesn't get a 5 - star crash rating from front/rear/side ---insurance issues will be huge.......

.....and, I think we're safe in saying this: The production car is so close to the concept -- that if we were driving down the road in a production Camaro coupe in Silver -- and you passed us going the other way -- you'd swear it was the Silver concept. I mean it. I couldn't be happier.

(OK -- for something we'll talk about next year at this time -- there are TWO things I'm not wild about -- each is a small detail.......but I can live with 'em and they probably won't be on most peoples' radar screens....other than that, I can't get the grin off my face.....)

The Future just keeps getting brighter and brighter!

Good luck -- and we hope that all three Bumblebee Camaros will go to good homes in the Camaro/Firebird Enthusiast community!
i know u probaly cant answer this is the rims going to be close i know they will have to be sized down but im talking about the style i love the coupes rims.

I shouldn't be surprised seeing this picture already but honestly I am.

Still hoping for a not retro interior and a different grille.

I don't know if anyone else noticed (I didn't read through all of the replies) but it seems to me that the car is really tall. I don't know if Welburn is relatively short but wow, that car is much taller than I would have hoped. The roof comes to his upper chest.

I hope so! That was one of the styling cues from the first gens that I really liked!

Wow, he is short then. Ok, then it might not be as bad as I had feared.

Correct, Mr.Welburn is a short guy, Id say 5'8" or shorter even.
The Camaro is short, probably as short as he is to the concept.
I swear there is a picture of him standing next to the Camaro. I have a picture of him standing next to the new Malibu, that might help.

Here ya go..

Him with the 2 concepts and his 69 for reference

Rick, Lutz and Welburn at Detroit

Im in love with it! I do hope that they keep the side crease, and I think they will. I see they toned down the rocker pannel a bit, and no hide away wiper arms?!?! I do hope that they keep that crease in the roof of the car! Probably not, and maybe one of the things Scott is talking about, but I really liked that dual hump roof thing. I guess a ttops t-bar simulation or put there to pay homage to the ttop cars that came before it.

Well, here is a big one that has me somewhat worried. Does anyone see the flared fenders? did they remove them?? I can't really tell from this picture.

Fender flares appear to still be on the car.

I LOVE IT!!! It's SO thrilling to see this picture!

It looks to me like the gas cap is on top of the fender - and that would be awesome! And I wouldn't rule out a hud yet either - it looks to me like there is a small opening near the windshield between the gage clusters - check out the red box I've added below......
