ok i love this car but FOR THE LOVE OF GOD its not a rear fender its a Quarter Panel im losing my mind reading all you guys saying "rear fender"....

Which crease are you talking about? The slight line that ran down the middle of the car? Or the lower crease along the bottom of the doors? The lower one is still there - I don't know about the middle crease, though.

 

 

Scott, you are THE MAN! This answer is just evasive enough to tell us nothing, but give those of us in the "gas cap on top of the quarter panel" crowd some hope. That's awesome.......and perhaps a bit cruel.

But I can totally understand it - to me it's a styling cue that set the concept very much apart from most cars and it got noticed by every single "non-enthusiast" that I know that saw the car - noticed in a positive way. I personally think the little details will make or break this car and if you don't want to share, that's cool - automotive is a cutthroat business.................having said that, there's still a part of me that hates you a little

 

I doubt it. To get the structural rigidity they are looking for in order to reduce weight, I'd guess that the production b-pillar would be about 2-inches wide.

 

I did not mean to imply it was a B pillar but based on your statment from a previous post

I took that to mean it will look more like the Bumble Bee as it looks like a First gen rear window up. I guess I am expecting the glass to overlay the pillar more to hide it than say on some other cars. i also expect it to be black on all color Camaros to blend in.

If you got to have it you may as well hide it.

A good example of hiding a B pillar is the 88 Fiero GT with its large window that covers right to the door glass. The B pillar in the Fiero is about 8 inches wide and you se nothing of it.

 

Just two quick things.1)If you can remember the new Charger when it was a concept car it too had the fuel filler like the old charger in chrome on top of the left rear quarter.Obviously the production model has a fuel door on the side of the left rear quarter.2) With the 5th gen having a "b" pillar does that mean the rear side glass is stationary and does not "roll" down?

 

That would be my guess. Stationary on the coupe, roll down on the convertible.

 

I'd like to see that intake slot in the nose go away. Put it back up on the hood where it belongs IMO

 

1. The camo paint scheme won't be available until the release of metal gear 4

2. the hump on the passenger side floorboard will not be making a return

I wonder who. I love it there. I can pull up to any gas pump without worrying about what side of the car it's on, and unless you park like an idiot, there's no reason that the hose should ever touch the car if you pull up far enough. I've had my car for 5 years and have not yet spilled one drop of gas on my paint. All you need to do is give it 3 shakes... which every man on earth should be very capable of doing already!!!!

 

Personally Id rather it be removed than on the hood. Run ram air through the back of the cowl like the 69 if you want or aftermarket.

 

I would think that having it on the front of hood is more areodynamically efficient, however I haven't seen the math to proved it. While effective, the cowl induction hood does provide additional drag.
