NEWS: LA Preview: Chevrolet reveals Camaro Convertible on Facebook
Filed under: LA Auto Show, Convertible, Performance, Chevrolet
It's been an achingly long, three-year slog up until this point, but Chevrolet has finally taken the wraps off the production version of the 2011 Camaro Convertible ahead of its big day at the LA Auto Show.
The somewhat small images posted on Facebook give us our first view of the drop-top pony car with its canvas roof in place, but other than that, the 'vert is exactly what you've come to expect. Both V6 and V8 models will be available at launch, with the six-pot RS putting out 312 horsepower and the range-topping LS3-equipped SS producing 426 ponies. Sales are set to begin this March, with an entry-level price tag of around $30,000.

convertibles are alright for cruising, but not my cup of tea. I'd like to see the t-tops brought back as an option on the 5th gen, until then I'd rather have one with a moonroof. Looks sick though, I'd drive one for sure.

If the convertible was available the same time the Coupe was released, I probably would have bought the convertible. It looks absolutely stunning in person. I saw the Nieman Marcus convertible at a GM Event during SEMA and loved the look of the convertible. I can't wait to see these on the street - or even get a ride in one!

Maybe if I lived in Arizona or somewhere like that. All soft top convertibles look goofy to me, not just the Camaro. They look great with the top down though. I would consider a hard top convertible, but that isn't going to happen since it is even heavier and pricier.

You know, how come the image renders are always showing the exterior color darker than it is. I mean the Cyber Grey color is alright but in my own opinion why was the first set on the beach like a Charcoal color and these look more along the lines of the "Dusk" concept color. If they keep shading the tone darker why don't they just make that color(s) avaliable instead of avoiding the actual shade of Cyber Grey? Maybe this is something that can be brought up at the next Desciple Meeting?
