NEWS: Report: GM working on more powerful V6 for 2011 Camaro?

i would be upset too. just like if a z28 or a 7.0 was available next year, i would be very upset...... because i didnt wait. but i wouldnt be upset that the car isnt a very strong and well performed machine. because it is. now if the camaro had come with a 5.3 v8 pushing 330hp, and they had the 6.2 with 426 hp available, then i would feel shafted. because that power was available and existing. do you understand what im saying? or if they knew they could get more power out of that 5.3, but just decided to make due with it, i would be pretty upset and probably take my business elsewhere.

From a "dollars and sense" standpoint there was no real reason for Ford to sped the extra money to concern extra power and efficiency. They had all the market to themselves, they had a very jazzy restyle coming in 05, reasonable power and fuel economy for a pony car, and the sales numbers to boot. Job 1 was count the cash and use it to get to work on a cheeky hybrid and make something out of the Taurus line.

They may even end up with 4, with a turbo 4cyl as the base car.
However, I would not expect the Ecoboost 6 to be a standard option. I think it will come in as a SE, at a higher price. The general consensus is $37-42K.
I guess we will see, for the 2012MY.
