NEWS: Spy Shots: Chevy Camaro mule caught Stateside

I like this fellas comment:
The posts prior to it were kinda funny. Some people actually thought this was going to BE the production camaro
Folks, don't go thinking for even a second that this car in any way represents the new Camaro. It's a test mule for testing sub-components of the Camaro. Nothing more. Stuff like independent rear suspension components, powertrain components, HVAC components, etcetera.
Remember the '97 Corvette? It's fleet of test mules were cut-up 1994 Camaros! They looked like a Camaro but had IRS and big ol' hand-fabricated scoop that looked like a wart on the hood that enabled the Corvette LS1 powertrain to fit under there.
You cannot make any judgements on the style of the future Camaro by looking at this car, and that is by design. Engineers will use it to evaluate subassemblies, then most likely crush it when they are done thrashing it.

I hope the body is just there for testing chassis and drivetrain as it looks too much like the holden VE sedan otherwise.
They better put something like the camaro prototype body on there or Im going to be looking elsewhere.

Yes, the body is just there for test purposes.

Check out Autoblog.com ans you can see the new SUV Saab and Caddy with a Trailblazer body on it. The end product just as here will not look anything like the Mule.
The idea is for no one to know what it will look like and it really works. You will see what it will look like when they want you to see it. Those pictures 95% of the time are not by accident. GM is well know to drive in parts of the Warren test track when they want to be seen to the out side. It won't be too much longer as for getting a better look. The cars will be in a dealer in less then a year and a half. Heck we are almost only a year from production

Pretty sure this is just an early driveline mule only and probably with the correct powertrain or similar power output powertrain . I wouldnt look too much into tire size , rim size or any part of the camaro body fitment on this car .

Sorry, been out of the country for a week. I thought that that little round thing on the top passenger corner of the front grill was an indication of a dry sump system. When the ls7 Z06 was first caught on spy shots someone pointed that out as the indicator for dry sump. I just assumed that was the same, but it may just be a sensor of some sort. Am, I wrong.
