That article mentioned something about Pontiac wanting royalties because of not using the Firebird, but they could always use the upcoming GTO in place of the Camaro as the K.I.T.T. car??

That makes no sense. So because they WON'T use a certain car makers vehicle, they have to pay that auto maker???

 

the way i'm reading this, they aren't using a classic TA because if they did use a classic TA, pontiac would demand royalties

i don't see how people are getting the idea that pontiac want's royalties because of NOT using a TA

Sorry, I obviously mis-read that part (or more specifically, didn't read it well enough). Apparently I conveyed the wrong message, but I still stand behind them using a Pontiac for KITT (as opposed to the Camaro) but since there WON'T be a Firebird (in the foreseeable future) then the GTO is the only option.

The 2009 GTO . I know there's nothing "official" on this yet, but I thought that it is in the works?? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I've read that it IS being developed for a MY2009 release as well as the Camaro?

 

I think we will hear a word from GM this Jan at the '07 autoshow.

Of course I only know as much as the Internet can say, but there was a lengthy thread over on LS1Tech about a 2009 Firebird, in which that idea was 100% shot down, but apparently (according to a couple guys there, seemingly "in the know") 2009 GTO is a go??

I'm not doubting what you know, but I'm not doubting what "they" know either!? ..... basically, I'm waiting 'til January to decide .

Post #3 and post #23 acknowledge 2009 GTO pretty confidently. And check out the name of that forum ..... "2009 Camaro and GTO" ?? Obviously the website Admins are pretty confident about it??
