Just want to echo what has been said elsewhere...this thread is being watched and respectful thoughts and opinions on this subject can indeed make a difference.

Definitely listen to CamaroZ28.Com Podcast #162 if you haven't already.

I did listen to the podcats and what I gathered was that they don't offer blue for any SS model, Cobalt, HHR, whantot. though, i was also looking over the price sheet very heavily, i may have missed a point or two about it. i want to know more about what's going on with white. what is this interim crud?

The bean counters should look for other ways to save money - limiting color choice just angers people.

I currently own a Electron Blue 02 Z06 and people love the color. Blue is my 1st option for the SS Camaro.... so count another one for Blue SS. No reason not to have it.. and like it was said before if it is to save money..... look to save someone else. Learn that people need choices!!

Okay, but I don't see many SS convertibles in the first place (and most of the ones I do see are 35th anniversary special editions, red with the checkered stripes).

How many NBM V8 Camaros sold that year?

Not having blue for the SS is definitely a disappointment. My 92 firebird was blue and I absolutely loved that color and had gotten a ton of compliments on it. When I was looking for a 4th gen I wasn't able to find a blue one I was happy with so I settled for dark green and hoped it would grow on me. I like the green but every time I see my 92 next to my 97 the blue looks so much better.

I do plant on owning a new Camaro but won't be doing so for a few years, hopefully the blue will be available then.

Why not offer a REAL blue, like Electron or Stryker and charger extra for it like they do for Red Jewel?

You could get rid of Yellow. We should do another poll, how many want yellow available for the SS.

The difficulty with getting rid of yellow is that you will have people complaining that they want to order a Bumblebee clone.

edit: not worth fighting in my opinion, its GM. they do pay some guy $50k a year to decide what color should not be available.

I could see them rolling out a couple different blues after the first production run, but it does seem assinine to not include one of the "foundation colors" for such an awesome car.

If blue was in my ballpark, I would def be waiting till it came out to order one.

Good thing I'm like every other Camaro nut and like Black....or is it the Orange today....oh, I wouldn't mind the Silver with the Orange leather...eh.

Getting back to it, ANY blue should be on the first run palet.

My humble opinion,
Ivan

Blue is my favorite color...Needless to say every car I look at whether it is a GM or otherwise is always blue. Taking blue away from me as an option just made me decide to pursue a used 96 Viper GTS. Ok so maybe it wasn't all because of the color but seriously every GM I have ever owned all the way down to my 1996 Z-71 have been blue. I am in love with Electron Blue, and if I decide instead to by a C6 Z06..you guessed it LeMans Blue. If there was ever a color that did not need to be removed from the SS line up it is Blue. Give me a special shade like bring back Electron, but don't limit True Blue to the V6 only.

*IF* i had the money to buy the car new, I'd pay extra gladly for Stryker Blue. It is so awesome on the G8, and Photos do NOT do the car justice.
