Thank you to Z28Wilson for the use of his 4th gen for some of the pictures.

 

Thanks for taking the pictures, I KNEW I should have checked the batteries in my own camera before leaving!

 

I will say that the new Camaro rocks. I still say that 4th gen still looks damn good even when parked next to the new one. You can really see the size difference in those pics.

 

I hadn't realized it was so much bigger than the 4th gen. It looks more muscular but less nimble.

 

Were they production or captured test fleet vehicles?

 

They were Captured Test Fleet vehicles. Good to see em all together and it sure generated a lot of traffic.

 

Without a doubt, they are definitely taller (even with the squished greenhouse) and "bulkier" than the 4th Gen. It's still a head turner though.

 

Was the yellow SS an auto or a manual?

Thanks. I was asking because I noticed the trans temp gauge on the console, and thought that was a bit odd for a manual car (not complaining - better than a torque gauge!). That is the one gauge on a stick car that is probably not worthwhile. Would prefer to see a vacuum gauge instead.

Regardless, hopefully GM's gauges are still "real" gauges and not the glorified idiot lights that are (or at least were) in Mustangs.

Is the V6 Camaro Inferno Orange?
It's hard to tell from the pics as it seems slightly more orange than the Red SS.
Also the red on the 4th Gen seems brighter than the red on the 5th Gen.

 

Yes, that was an inferno orange car. Also, the 5th Gen red was noticeably darker than the red on mine - though I'm not sure whether that's just a biproduct of 8 year old paint.....
