Thanks for pointing out my typo. It's fixed.

To answer your question, and to be brutally honest, as you are fond of being: It would be a good thing for those of us who would have to put up with all of your griping.

Oh, I see.

Like the 5 pages of petty griping you started in the weight thread over the exact meaning of someone's post?

BTW, If I were to gripe, it would only be to people who mattered - so that would exclude you. So don't waste any energy worrying about it.

Thanks.

You'd gripe on these forums, in threads I would be interested in. Just like you do today, except you'd find more to gripe about after driving the car.

We all know how you work, Charlie. Don't deny it.

You have no idea what I'd praise or gripe about.

No idea at all....

And the way you seem to work is to divert attention from true automotive discussion, and hijack threads into petty, stupid arguments.

It's wonder Jason tolerates having you on this site.

By 'Good', I meant Goodyear F1 street tires, and NOT Drag Radials or slicks.
Nice runs btw, it's neat to buy a car and drive it straight to the track and have to wear a helmet to run it.

He managed a 12.6 with a K&N and DR's.

If projects like those happen again you guys should really think about plugging one or two in a commercial. Hardly ANY non-Camaro head know of those GMMG cars.

You forgot the ZL1

Yes - a very nicely-done ride, modified with mild bolt-ons so that things like the warranty could stay in place. Saw a quote from Matt Murphy that went like this: "Bolt on some slicks and this thing will probably go 12.80, maybe 12.75." Not bad.

Could you get them at dealers other than Berger?

...or the Earnhardt Camaros??????
Yes, all 83 of them. What was the MSRP of those?

.............or the Carl Black Blackbirds????????????
Yes, all 100-ish of them. Available only at Carl Black Pontiac.

...............or the Hot Rod (Magazine) Camaros???????
Yuppers.. Lot of bolt-ons there - not much other info though. How many were made?

..................or the Tom Henry Racing Camaros????????????
Ummm....no, haven't, though apparently they are associated with Tom Henry Chevrolet. Not sure what a "racing camaro" has to do with a factory 03/04 Cobra though.

...............or the Dick Harrell Camaros??????????????????
Ah yes, back to GMMG. A very nicely done package, for sure. $86k is a bit of a steep price to pay (base version), and certainly not real comparible to an 03 Cobra, but then again, I'm sure it outperforms it by a wide margin (ok, I'm not sure it does, but that's probably a good bet). There were ~35 of them, correct?

Obviously not.
Even if the person you were answering did or did not, none of those cars is comparible to a factory 03 Cobra - given that they are all modified off the assembly line - much like a Steeda or Roush Mustang (though not nearly as available).

FWIW...I don't agree with "tail between your legs" characterization the poster made...though I'm pretty sure his post was far from serious.

If the name of the game is beat on '03 Cobra at the track with a 02 F-body then technically I've done it.
My 2002 Z28 was fully loaded Auto and had a lid/filter and cutout. I was at a track in probably Nov. 02 for a bracket race in some cold MI weather ~ 35-40 degrees. After making several passes a guy in the new '03 Cobra (silver) entered the track and after a cool down he seemed to wait for me in line. I was running consistant 12.8's at 108 on GSC's. We lined up and I left on him with a good light to his snoozing. It was hard to determine if his car was faster as he was in my blind spot the whole run. We both ran 12.8's and I think he trapped about 110-111 to my 108.

But that is the track. The Cobra is a more powerful car and certainly capable of beating a stock LS1 F-body, but it's also very capable of loosing too. Drivers matter. I would have taken that guy's lunch money all day. On the street and certainly a roll the Cobra should pull away.
But my car was modded with $200 in parts so it was not really even against the more expensive Cobra. If price and modding are issues as they always are.

So I kinda skimmed a lot of this thread, but I don't find it particularly unreasonable if a top-o-the-line Camaro hit $37k. Actually, that's kinda what I budgeted for it...
