Have your fun while it lasts F*rd guys! When the top 5th Gens come out it's most likely gonna be more of the same all over again for you guys: a better performing car all-around, and redemption for Chevy guys! I highly doubt todays GM will let themselves be beat in ANY regard with it's competition unless we all get messed up over the gas prices and that MPG requirement nonsense.

Actually, that's what happens when some of your people come here and claim that your brand had something to do with our cars being on hiatus and that your top model in some way "bested" ours when we had nothing to possibly counter with anymore LOL. Some of you guys really need a clue if you think this is reality.
BTW, this is kinda a "nice guy" Camaro site. Until we have to deal with F*rd guys that is.

There's nothing in GM's toybox in 2002 that could have answered the '03 Cobra.
That said, the stang's performance on the track had nothing to do with the Camaro being axed.

I had a buddy with an Red '02 SS Camaro running 12.8's, stock, with good tires.

I went 12.6 @ 112 mph with my bone stock 04 (on stock tires - not good tires). Quickest bone stock pass I know of was a 12.4x @ 114 (guy named Ken Risher, and again, on stock tires).
On average, I'd suggest the 03/04 Cobra was ~.4 sec & ~5-6 mph quicker than the LS1 F-body.
On average.

So I've been told, and in general your right, although I'd hate to see the level of "enthusiasm" at other sites, it would probably make me wonder why there isn't litany of burnt hulks formerly resembling Mustangs all over the place.

There should not be any comments that the 03-04 Cobra needs a supercharger to compete. I know that's the standard arguement. But Fords terminator program was quite extensive and I believe really pushed the edge of what could be done on the aged SN95 platform. IMO the SVT team did more with the terminator program than they did with the Cobra R programs in regards to getting that car to accelerate, stop and handle. And to think all this was done at the end of the Mustang generation with the all new 2005 on deck is a testiment to Ford's dedication to the brand and I'm sure a little bit to prowness of GM F-bodies that had raised the bar.
I have no doubt that the 03-04 Cobra will take it's place as one of the great performance benchmarks and if for nothing more than the modability. Looking at the prices the cars still command in the used car market shows that they were well recieved and still well liked. I think when we are at Barrett-Jackson in 2025 as older guys with more money and nostalgia the 03-04 Cobra will be regarded high with the 5.0L Fox and the GM Turbo V6 cars, ZR1's, Vipers and a myriad of SS, WS6 and Firehawk models as the most memorable from the 80's 90's and 2000's.

was horrible, and it rode like a log wagon. If I was 20 and all I cared about was power, then I guess I would be happy.

But its got a blower... j/k. My LS2 C6 went the exact same time bone stock on street tires 12.6@114. I see your still the better driver, since w/ the higher mph you would think I would have went a little faster... Although w/ just headers,CAI, tune, some drag radials and maybe some better driving it went 11.96@118.98.

Oh? Mine are piqued.
I know I'm late to the game, but . Good thing Charlie's not one of the 12 (15).
This is quite false. They are both supercharged 5.4L versions of Ford's mod motor. I think they share bore and stroke. There might be a some parts in common, but the supercharger is different, the intercooler is different, the rotating assembly is different. I think that even the heads are different.

Actually, I was one of the 30 or 40 which the 12 were chosen from. I told them that if chosen, I would be brutally frank with my inputs to them.
