Not that I heard or read in my GM material...

Same here, but I will bet that there will be companies making vinyl overlays for ridiculous prices to simulate it. I'll bet it wouldn't cost too much to have a body shop do it.

Re: Official 2011 Camaro Convertible Press Release - WITH COMPLETE SPECS!

Just got back from the LA show's press days.

This Camaro convertible is a lot more than simply cutting off the roof. The rear fenders and it seems much of the rear inner structure is newly engineered just for the convertible.

Good news:
It's likely to be one of the most solid convertibles on the road bar none, and it looks drop dead gorgeous in person

The bad news:
yes, it gained 150 to 200 pounds. If you're worried about weight, get a Miata.

Also worth noting:
The Zeta based Camaro is going to be around longer than some of you expect. With the amount of money invested at this late date in Camaro, do not expect Camaro to leave this chassis till at least the 2016 MY/ 2015 CY.

Refreshings before then, most likely. All new, Nope.

If it gets some good tweaks (some interior materials upgrades, suspension / "track pack" options, wider front tires to match the rears, maybe a small power boost), I think it will be fine for a few years.

You would think a new corvette would come out in that time. Most likely leading to a new small block. Wouldn't there be a change in engines?

What is the purpose of this message board then? To just blindly praise GM and love everything they do to the Camaro?

I did not post here to "ruin this thread". I am a Camaro enthusiast and I take offense to my post being deleted.
It's not a case of blindly praising GM, it's a matter of having already discussed the topic ad nauseum. I think Chris is correct in his assessment that most of the message board readers/contributors don't want to wade through any topic that's been rehashed again and again, no matter what the topic is. I support his effort to keep the threads interesting and on topic.

Heck, even I agree with this - we've been down that road enough (myself included). Got it.
