Agreed. Didn't the Buck V6 based 3rd gen Turbo TAs come with some sort of user applicable graphics? Could do the same thing.

I've been keeping tabs on this board because I may buy a Camaro when it comes out. Its definitely not a done deal for me. There are many different options for me besides buying a new car.

What would be hard for me to resist would be a version with the LS7 engine. And I am talking about the dry-sump version. Its such an incredible engine (at least to me) I might start a project and use an LS7 crate motor if there isn't a version of the Camaro with it.

You could get the same power from a smaller engine that gets higher gas mileage.

Not to steal any thunder from Matt Murphy at GMMG....but "Heritage Editions" would be super cool!

These could be added on top of any model...and be "correct" for that model...i.e. SS's have hockey stripes, Z/28's have the dual stripes, etc....

Imagine, correct 1st gen colors....complete with houndstooth interiors, stripe packages, special wheels and badging, etc... (you know the SLP treatment).

Also, what about an autographed Lutz Edition...or a Welburn Edition...or a Tom Peters Edition...but most importantly a Settlemire Edition!?!?

I know of one vendor right here in Indy who desperately wants to build the Sunoco editions....they have ties to Donahue too

I'd like to see a Grumpy Jenkins tribute model!!

I'd also like to chime in on the special track models too...big ol' brakes and lots of HP.....along with light weight....oh yeah baby...the Harden Edition.

Any "special edition" becomes one of two things: timeless ('69 Camaro Pace Car) or dated ('97 Vette Pace Car). I like the ZL1 as there is a simple GM numeric code (like Z71 and Z06) people associate with special and desired packages. A Mark Donohue Edition/Sunoco would be great as well, to pay homage to Camaro's racing history. We really just need a bunch of ways to customize them: different stripe packages, hoods, rear spoilers, interiors color-matched, etc. The problem is Mustang has Carroll Shelby and we don't really have anyone like that. Also, I'm surprised nobody has brought up the ultimate: The Fbodfather Edition!!

P.S. Scott, I have your counterpart from the F-body side here in WI as my area rep and he and I were talking Camaro and Firebird/TA two days ago. --->V.C. He had some interesting stories.

How about a "Bandit" edition? Black with gold pinstripes.

It really doesn't matter what special editions that are made, as long as they ARE made.

Personally I'd like to see a 1LE, and at least some different factory stripe packages.

Another one here for the Sunoco Camaro... give it even bigger fender flares. Lower front facia... drool.

1LE? Sure. But hopefully any 1LE type hardware will rightfully find itself standard on the Z/28.

Anyone remember Bill Mitchell (not the GM designer, but the Camaro tuner). Where is he now a days? He used to build really hot, incredibly good handling, late 2nd gen Camaros.

It was my pleasure and honor to drive one of his cars a couple of years ago. It was a 1980 Z/28 - with turbo, full on suspension, Recaro seats and Minilite wheels.

By far - the best handling 2nd gen I've ever driven.
