OK...part 2- what special edition Camaros would you like to see.....

I like the idea but legal stuff get in the way on some of these ideas. I think that is why anniversery cars are so popular to make. No one to pay no name to register and own!

But I want a YENKO Camaro!

I've owned an F body since I was 16 and I'm on my 4th Turbo Tran AM excuse me for liking fast cars
I suppose I shouldn't have pulled the 305 out of my 92 Z28 and droped a turbo buick in it either
hey it just dawned on me my 92 Z28 has stickers (heritage edition stripes) a Turbo and a wing (like all 91 and 92 Z28's) and my (gasp) 89 Turbo Trans AM Pace Car has stickers too!!! maybe I'm a ricer

I see the retro colored Chargers got mentioned. I know they're not much more than a paint and stripe package (which I have no problem with, by the way) but I really like those colors. There's a few of the neon green ones around here and I've seen some of the other colors also. I think they're cool looking.

But those colors are based on historical Dodge colors from the 1960's. While I'll agree that hugger orange (at least the metallic version used on the concept convertible) should be available in some form on the Camaro (special edition, Z28, pace car, etc.) which other historically significant colors should be available? Daytona Yellow, and LeMans Blue Metallic are the only two that come to mind immediately. The rest are already in the GM color palate.

I haven't read through all the posts so if this has been said then forgive me.
Just a thought but what about using the Panther name on a special edition one? A throw back to what the car was originally going to be called. Wouldn't matter if it was a V6 or V8. Maybe make it all blacked out with yellowed fog lights and different wheels (say the competition gray painted wheels like what can be had on the ZO6 but in a 5 spoke and larger ZO6 brakes with the calipers painted yellow to match the fog lights), different free flowing exhaust and Panther emblems in black outlined in yellow. Just a thought.
Edit: As far as colors to go along with the above I would personally like to see Rallye Green added to the list of color choices.

I don't know why there'd be a factory Yenko Camaro. Yenko was a Chevy dealer who put 427s into some Camaros he sold, and branded them "Yenko Super Cars". This was an independent action, not a factory job. Chevy had nothing to do with it, outside of delivering Camaros to the dealership. Berger Chevrolet did the same thing with the 4th gens.

Ford called the Ford GT a GT because someone else had the rights to GT 40.
Here again they missed it by not going to a new number.
We should remember and respect the past not try to relive every moment of it as it will cost you since much of it has been trademarked.
Lets see if we can come up with new names or name never used for the Camaro special cars.
How about Panther. This was a working name from the past never used.
How about some other names GM may own and never were used. Something they would not have to pay a trade mark on and is somewhat original vs the same old stuff that really has no bearing todays car.
Old show car names are a great place for new/old Ideas.
