Are those the real concept pictures? I like the hockey stick line down the car . I wonder if they're going to come out with a concept like that in 2004?

Also, some more blasts from the past:

I think the real car turned out better than I had hoped for.
Back then, the speculation was mostly Monaro based.

Merry Christmas!

HEY!!......I wrote the story that went with this pic. It was probably around 2000 or 2001 I think. I related my ideas of what I thought a 5th gen would look like to Thom Taylor. After he sent me his rough sketches, I tried to have him tone it down abit...ie., "can we reduce the the 40" wheels Thom"?, but CHP ultimately went with the originals. Anyway, Thom and I probably had a total about 2-3 hours worth of 'talking cars' on the phone. Really interesting guy, I enjoyed it!

One thing I made sure of was that Thom put Z/28 emblems on his 5th gen illustrations. You guys don't think I'd let that opportunity slip away.....do you?

It's amazing how close that yellow illustration is.

This looks pretty good, kinda looks 4-door-ish, but a mix with the SSR...

ewwww, I'm sorry but I disagree....

I think that had to be one of the worst "concepts" ever posted here.

To each their own though

I was thinking the same thing, especially the front...and considering how long ago they were drawn.
