paddle shift

This is just being thrown out there. Has anyone heard of this being an option or not. That would be perfect.

I would think it would come standard with the A6, but we haven't heard.

I might consider it if....the A6 wasn't very much more than the M6, the HP loss wasn't more than a few, and the option price was reasonable. Otherwise just give me the stick.....and then the wife can't drive it..

Can't speak for the camaro but for the mustangs the A5 is a better choice if you're looking to make a straight line demon. What they lose in HP they more than make up for in superior shifts.

Not really. It's just that the stock m5 in the mustang sucks.....even the 2008 "fixed" version that I have. The one in the bullit is MUCH better. Hell, the m6 in the 4th gen fbodies were light years ahead of them. Despite that......I had a damn good time shifting it this morning
The thing about auto's is if you want a straight line beast its easy to throw in a higher stall converter at the expense of drivability. That and they are consistant.

I cannot imagine that they will not have paddle shift on the Gen5 cars. It has become pretty much standard for any sporty car these days.

I'd be more concerned with seeing steering wheel mounted stereo controls myself.....

Call me crazy but I like the sport shifter on the CTS and G8. I usually drive with one hand because that’s the position I feel most conformable with. With the paddle shifters I have to have my hand on the 9 and 3 o'clock position like I am back in driving training.

Performance driving should be done with 2 hands. One hand is lazy.....and just a little dangerous. That being said just put it in auto mode qnd that fixes your problem.

On the steering wheel or the console shifter , pretty sure you wont have choice to not have some form of auto stick . You could always get the manual trans and not have to worry about it at all

It depends on your definition of performance driving. I am interpreting it as road courses, racing, or some type of stunt driving. In that case yes you should have both hands on the steering wheel. However for your average driver a typical reason you would like to use the shifter no matter if it’s on the steering wheel or console to be able to pass vehicles on the road. So if you need two hands to be able to pass that then by all means do so. I am fine just doing it with one. Most people like paddle shifters I just prefer it on console, but wherever it is at will not be a factor when purchasing the Camaro.
