Re: Please post your age.

I'm 20, got my 2000 Formula paid off. And yes, I have money for a 5th gen Camaro.. maybe not a 40K Z/28. But anything around 25K will get my money.

Re: Please post your age.

I'm 35, and have to come clean...

There is a strong possibility that I represent a large percentage of Camaro buyers in that I am most likely in the market for a Corvette next time around and not a Camaro.

I love Camaros, they hold a special place in my heart... but I have to come clean with the personal idea that at some point, with many Camaro buyers, the mighty Corvette is the next logical step.

Which is why the internal antagonism at GM, which was mostly the fault of the Corvette group and not the Camaro folks, never made sense.

The two cars are literally brothers. They support each other in a myriad of ways and should never be considered separately... to the point that the business cases for both vehicles should be tied together in such a way that they are never separated.

Interesting thoughts....

You know, I had this conversation with Doug Harden last week. The Corvette is better than Camaro in any metric you'd want to use. Handling, braking, acceleration, weight...you name it. But somehow, I haven't crossed over, I still and probably always, will consider myself a Camaro guy.

I came close to crossing over once. In 1988. No wife, no kids, no mortgage, first real job. I ordered a Z52 Corvette convertible, with the 4+3 manual trans and those radical (for the day) 17" wheels. Gorgeous. Unfortunately it was damaged in shipping and the dealer bodyshop had way below par ability. GM refused to have a competent shop fix it. Finally I told the dealer to stick it up their a$$...I wouldn't accept delivery.

It's almost as if the cosmos had conspired to KEEP me a Camaro guy.....

I'm 63. My new Camaro arrived 5/27/67, dark red, 327, 4 speed, ps, pb AM radio with a MSRP just under $3000.
