Prediction on Future

I'll admit I'm a 4th gen owner but I'm also going to admit that my family has owned a slew of other vehicles such as a 1969 Firebird, Mustang II, Pontiac Parissien, Ford Falcon, Ford Explorer, Ford Escape, Chevy Cavalier, and even (Ugh, I've heard all the jokes, it's my mothers car...) a New Beetle.
My Camaro was and is my first car. However that does not make me ignorant to the heritage and history of the car. Every time I see a 1st gen, my head turns. Every time I see a 2nd, 3rd or 4th gen, I feel a sense of commaradarie with my fellow owners. To me, it's not just a car, a Camaro is a choice in life. You chose to sit behind the bowtie and you chose the Camaro over the Camry, Accord, Civic, Mustang, SX2.0, Cavalier, 300C, you name it.
To say a 4th gen owner is ignorant to the previous generations is to deny the entire culture behind the car; it is to accuse people of proceeding through life with blinders on, ignoring anything that isn't straight ahead.

I'm not saying that every person that buys a new Camaro will be ignorant to the past. You have to exclude us the car guys.
There will hopefully be new buyers that never cared for the Camaro(GM) until now. And if that happens then there will be a lot of them that don't know anything about earlier gens.Take for example the VW Beetle, theres a lot of new beetle owners that don't give a hill of beans about the old ones history. Which is perfectly fine.
Not caring about the past happens now. What Im saying though when the 5th comes out and sells more like mustang it will happen on a grander scale.

I dont know if I agree with your first statement or not. I'd have to lean mostly to disagreement. While, yes, if we get more new camaro owners, they may or may not care about the history, they will definately know there WAS a histroy. regardless of weather or not they care of the history, most folks know there has been a camaro in the past.
The value of the 4th gens, may go down. It may stay the same, or it may increase. I imagine it will continue its downward spiral, to bout 4-5grand like the 93-95s are, and then pan out for a while. Once thats done, it will gradually begin an upward climb. The 3rds are in the upward trend now, and the second gens are getting almost as insane as the firsts, specially for the 70-73's.
Personally, though, if its me, no i wont get rid of mine for a 5th. I like my 4th gen for what it is.. granted my favorite is my 3rd gens.. but hey, we're all different. As a Camaro enthusiast / collector, I think that i will keep all of my gens, and still hunt for the 2nd and 5th.. once i have every gen.. ill be done buying them until the 6th is out.. and so on and so on..
The average person, may or may not keep his 4th gen... but if they dont, it just means more 4ths out there for the collectors who want them!
