Problems adapting to the F5?
I'm all souped about the idea of the F5 coming out but even after the spy shots and pics here, I just cant grasp the look
I dont see many F bodys at all!!! I saw my first in a long time today, 01-02 Black WS6 Trans Am totally stock, quite possibly one of the most sexiest cars for the money. it was so nice! pretty clean too dispite the last week of snow, female driver. we hung for a wile then she made a turn off.
I look at the 4th gens and even 3 years after production stoped I still think they were some of the sleekest sexiest cars on the planet for the money! In 98' the options were kinda bleek, my camaro still looks amazing 7 years later
Alot of the concepts have grown on me later like the 05 mustang I now like more then at first, but I have a hard time going Retro to an erra before aerodynamics.

I hadn't heard it either. Does that mean 4th gens are now f4's? So they are the rusty hulks (F4 Phantoms) that litter the airplane graveyard in AZ?

Re: Problems adapting to the F5?
I started calling it F5 about 3 years ago(?) and people picked up on it.
Doesn't matter what the previous ones were called, that is what some call it now...especially when they talk about it in the 5th gen forum, which was specifically created for threads like this.
Moving it there now...
You can call it what you like.

I don't know why it matters, but people DO call it that, even though it is "ghey".

Re: Problems adapting to the F5?
I think it dates back even further than that.
Ever since the 97 Corvette was called "C5"... (Never heard "C4, C3, C2, or C1 before that)... and people started talking about a 5th Gen Camaro....
Since "C" was taken, the natural choice was "F" for obvious reasons.

It's a really strong tornado.
Yeah, it'll take the industry by storm!..
Like someone said, "F-Body"..."5th Generation" = F5.
We were calling the Vette's C4's back in the late '80's..I used to race'em all the time.

Even though the platform isn't called "F" anymore (Sigma, Sigma-Lite, whatever), I think RP has hinted that the Body Code in the VIN would still be an F... so, even though the platform name wouldn't be F, the Body Code still would be...
