Z/28 will have 18inch wheel in front, and 19 in back with a special option that fairly wide rear tires.

Priced so the fastest (Z/28) version with no options is less than the base model fully loaded.

Onstar should be optional not mandatory

Optional exotic hood

The slight lip for the rear spoiler is great. Shouldn't change unless it is made bigger.

Interior Quality - GTO level
Affordability - on par with the stang
Dependability - a rear end that can take high rpm launches on the track with slicks. No IRS wheelhop. One could hope.

BUT MY #1 is back seat spacing. I have taken my 7 year old to sit in the back seat of a few vehicles that I would consider for my daily driver/fun car. Most of them are horrible with the back seat spacing. Refresh my memory, but wasn't the pony car idea to be a 2 door performance machine that a guy could use as the family transportation? Because the Mustang, RX8, Eclispe, etc...all lack back seat space. If my 7 year old can't sit in it, what use is it?

HUD, HID, Body-matched interior accents, no delay in production of top dog model, ipod connectibility to radio, GM's new high-tech keyfob (displays vehicle status, alarm status, gas, tire pressures, etc.).

As a vert owner the only problem is not being able to see out of the rear windshield on vert when I'm backing up. I'd really appreciate it if you made a rear windshield on verts that you could see out of when backing up.
An RS package/option across every trim level
And variety of factory paint jobs on the exterior and interior.(If possible)
That's all with my first statement being my number one problem.

Options not packages.

Stripes, concept hood, variety of rims and rim sizes available as an option on V6 Camaros.

More colors for leather/cloth interiors other than black and gray.

Keep the console gauges as standard or an optional item. They are unique and are a big part of the interior.

I am not sure how much I can talk about and how much I cannot, but I will say the following:

Based on what I have read here in this thread:
  • Many of you don't actually READ before posting replies. You might want to work on that.
  • Expect too much, get let down. Keep realistic desires in mind, and scrap the stuff that is extreme. Remember, this car needs to appeal to as many people as possible and not YOU, not the hardcore drag racer, not the hardcore autocrosser/road racer.

And what was talked about earlier today during the focus group...
  • Having said the above, Chevrolet is more in tune with what most of us want than you might think. Again, keep REALISTIC desires in mind.
  • A statement that was made by someone pretty darn high up the ladder for Chevrolet that struck me as very powerful..."(The Camaro coming back) is (one of) the best thing(s) that has ever happened to Chevrolet." I barely caught it as I was distracted by something else, but that was very close to the exact words that were said.

That's it, I really don't want to do the wrong thing and say something I shouldn't, although no huge secrets were spilled. They asked open questions and we answered. I think that our thoughts were heard and understood without a tremendous explanation required.

Driving the convertible concept...

All I can say is exactly what I tried to convey here when I drove the coupe...

"It feels like a Camaro should."

Everyone else agreed. More details and video(s) to come later in a separate thread.

Performance? Engine Options?

And please don't say I should be realistic about "everything". I am sure there are a number of specific things we want that we need to be more "realistic" about. What points brought up in this thread are out of the "realistic" realm?

Yes, you need to be realistic about everything, including price, performance, and engine options. That being said, when the production details are finalized, the overall package should be EXTREMELY impressive.

I'll let Jason take the lead to start the discussion about the summit... his post above pretty much summarized what happened.... especially the part about Chevy being in tune with what enthusiasts want.

I can say without hesitation, Camaro is in very good hands.

People out there are expecting it to outperform a Z06 or even a C6 at 1/3 the price. I think the best way to enhance the whole "think realistic" thing is to say "Keep realistic desires in mind while expecting the car to be extremely competitive with the market in terms of price and performance." Maybe that narrows it down a bit.
