Question for those of you with the Hot Wheels diecast?

We bought as many of the Hotwheels silver diecast Camaro concepts as we could at Walmart last month, .97 a pop, can't beat it!
And we noticed something about one of them, that none of the others had.

One of them had a chrome plated bottom. All the others were just black.

Any of you have the Hotwheels Camaro diecast with a chrome plated bottom?

I couldn't find any more like it.

Thanks for any replies

Nope, none with the chrome bottom. All I've found here is black, but I'm keeping my eyes open.

There's also a variation with a painted grille Bowtie, but no luck on that one either.

The one I mentioned above has that Bowtie coloring, front and rear. I am trying to find out how unique it is. I haven't seen it on eBay either.

I just checked all twelve of mine and none of them have the chrome bottoms. This is getting more and more interesting now though, there are now reports of their being a red version, a chrome bottom, and painted bowties.

I can get a pic tonight if that will help. Someone will just have to post it up for me tomorrow. I checked all over the box, and there were no extra numbers or anything I could find that were different from the other black-bottom boxes. Unless I overlooked something?

I just did some poking around on Ebay and found every single variation on there. Even though the prices aren't out of hand, I think I'll take my chance trying to see what I can dig up in the storees.

Aww heck, I ended up ordering a red Hot Wheels off of ebay. The car was two bucks, but shipping was five. Hopefully they will send me the red Hotwheels car and not another silver one.

Search Ebay if you want to see the different variations.

There are a few different variations, some more subtle than others. For instance there's the chrome base one, black base one,one with flat black grills, one with gloss black grills, one with unpainted grills/taillights and finally the red one .

I have the chrome plated one. I could not find any of them in stores, so I bought mine off of ebay. I have not seen the red one at all though.
I did see a few other colors but they were because someone opened the package, colored it, and then heat sealed the package. I am wondering if that is what that red one is. If it really comes in red, then I will have to get that one too.

I just found several red ones on ebay now. They must have just came out though, because they were not there last week. They are also going for over 5 bucks a pop plus 5 dollar shipping. I think I will just keep my eyes open in the store for that.
