Quick write-up on our Camaro

Took delivery yesterday, had my first drive today. Overall, I'm very pleased. Here's a few quick hits...

1. I have a minor distortion across the center of the windshield, right in my line of sight. It's not THAT obvious, you kind of have to hunt for it, but just driving along, everything in front of you seems just a bit...different. If I look high or low, it goes away. I can probably live w/ it.

2. The radio is awesome, no need for an upgrade for me, I got the BA system.

3. I haven't really noticed a visibility problem. Sure theres not as much glass in the back as you're probably used to, but the mirrors cover that area fine, IMO.

4. Brakes are great, steering is fine for me, I can't see how anyone would fuss about it unless they're just really looking for something to fuss about.

5. Like the A6 in our G8, this one kind of lurches and hunts alot. Throw in the AFM bouncing back and forth all the time, and it's not a terribly smooth car. But I suppose it suits the cars' character.

6. The ride is between the G8 GT and C6. I had thought that it would be pretty close to the G8, but it is noticably livelier. The G8 is certainly the more comfortable ride, but again, this is an SS Camaro, not a G8.

7. The build quality seems fine, consistent gaps, really nice paint, no obvious flaws.

8. Be ready for some conversations. In one drive, I've already talked to more people about the car than I ever have about the Corvette in the 1 1/2 years I've owned it.

I haven't beat on it yet, so I can't comment on the handling close to the limits.

Here are a few pix....

Congrats on the new ride!

Nice color and stripe choice.

I'd check with the dealer for their opinion about the windshield.

Thanks all. Yeah thats the Mrs and our little monkey in the first pic. I was afraid she'd be too low in the back seat for the little side window to be of much use, but suprisingly it's pretty much at her level and she can see pretty well out of it. She's almost 7, so maybe this wouldn't be too terrible a car for her for some highway trips.

Congrats CLEAN.

Looking forward to some more comments relating to your driving experiences... when you get the chance, of course.
