Real World Track time comparison

my post was in reference to saying the LS3 is peaky. it makes 95% of its peak power from 5300 rpm to 6500 rpm, the rpm where you will be WOT. even if it makes 340 whp in auto form (the auto L99 is rated lower, im assuming you already knew this) that is at least a 325 whp average from 5300 to 6500.
you really can't tell how long the stock hemi holds power as they shut it down right after they hit peak hp.

i've been to the track with my current set up where I've ran 12.862 @ 111.158 vs my friends cam, full bolt on, geared, 6 spd WS6 coupe that ran 13.184 @ 110.677.

that's at sea level back in april.
i've been to the track where my H/I/C + full bolt on 5.0 was only trapping 104's vs. the usual 109's and my friends WS6 had lid, exhaust, cutout, pulley, MAF and he was in the 105-106's.
I've seen '02 Z06's struggling in the 109's-110's.
I saw a GT500 trap 104.
I've witnessed SRT8's trap 100's.
the track is a funny place sometimes.

Based on weight alone, the SS should have a small advantage over the SRT-8 in straight line acceleration.
As for the pic above of the two Challengers...I've seen 03 Cobras run low-mid 14s stock, and GT500s run high 13s stock, so one pic of two under-achievers really doesn't say much.
No offense HOTCIVIC.

Wow.. i sure hope they aren't underachievers...
now.. ls3s pumping 475 with bolt ons??? that is very impressive... then why buy a z06.. the ls7 is a CRAP super crap engine... because after a tune with bolt ons we managed to get 474 out of one... Wow.. GM should replace the ls7 with the ls3 in it...

The LS7 is extremely responsive to mods as well. They put down 450 rwhp stock and some have put down 480 - 490 rwhp with just a tune. Cam/headers/intake 550 rwhp plus.
Both the LS3 and LS7 are impressive motors.

SS, then it will really be kicking butt in more ways than one. Yeah, I know,
pricing not out, but something tells me $30,000 base SS will be close.

can make the best car look like crap and vice versa.

All may not be as it 'seems'. The G8 is underrated from the factory if dyno numbers are any guide. But you seem to rely on just factory engine numbers and then forming a conclusive opinion...

The L76 is a certified engine, "underrated" is a bunch of bs that doesn't exist anymore* (*for SAE certified vehicles).
