Regarding the Camaro Summit: Ummmm, what the heck?!

Am I alone here in expecting more 'buzz' after the Summit? I know everyone is bound to secrecy and all that stuff, but surely there must be some allowable interesting tidbits to share.

I know that they're not directly comparable, but after the Detroit unveiling, we had weeks and months full of interesting threads, tidbits, inuendo, anectotes and story telling.

I mean - what the heck guys, could it have possibly been THAT boring?

i think that they arent saying much because:

1) they can't tell
2) they don't know
3) it was mostly that GM asked them questions

From what I understand, GM asked questions, the summit people answered... so there was probably no new information that we don't already have.

People people above are somewhat right. I am working on something about it now, but we are in the busy season at work so that is taking up much of my time, unfortunately.

....so nothing along the lines of, oh say, the way Josh took Guy out for "doughnuts" at 2:00 AM, like in Detroit......

I'm waitin on the boss to collect his thoughts and present them first.

I'll say this for now.... those of you who have half a clue as to how the car business works, knows what Jason's been referring to as "realistic".

Now, within the realm of realism, I'd have to say we were asked for feedback about most of the prevalent issues that have been kicked around the forums these past months.

BWHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! I remember shaking my head when looking out the window saying, "welp, I dunno if Guy and Josh are gunna make it to the unveiling."

I was pretty well convinced that they weren't going to make the unveiling as well. Of course they did though. But I distinctly remember Guy being the very last person to board the bus, literally seconds before it left for Cobo Hall.

...pretty much what others have said. It was all about them asking us the questions. NOT that we were told any major 'secrets' (we weren't) but there are some things we are not allowed to say.
As most may know, we were broke up into two separate groups to first meet with marketing people, ...then with the engineering people (or vice versa, depending on what group you were in). They video/audio recorded everything. They took notes while people were answering, ...there was a sincere effort on their part to listen, ...and note what people were saying.
As (I think it was Jason who) mentioned, they covered the bases about interior, exterios, optioning, etc. What we liked (or disliked) about the car, ..but they didn't come out and say one way or another how specific things might change.
The intent with the whole thing was them getting feedback/information from us. Personally, ...we don't know a whole lot more about the car than we did before we went.
The fact that GM set this whole thing up, speaks volumes as to how important it is to them to get this car right. As for the ability to change things, ...there is still a lot that can change. Body panel wise, ...for the most part, I believe that is pretty fixed.
I firmly and whole-heartedly believe they DO want this thing right. They would not have invited us there. Believe me, ...they filmed and recorded EVERYTHING we said. They didn't tell us one way or another on all the issues, ...but again (and I can't over-emphasize this) they were very intently listening.
No question, ...being a part of this was a memory of a lifetime, ..my hat's off to GM for hosting this...

I don't get the secrecy thing? What can it possibly hurt?
What can they hope to benefit by keeping it a secret?

Do you think the fact that most of the participants are in the 4thgen community or SSOA might have skewed or biased the responses?

Many of us in the SSOA are also owners of the other generations, so....no, I don't think that skewed anything that we also have a 4th gen.

To answer your question, ...I don't believe so at all.
I do own a 4th gen, ...however my favorite years are the 1st gens (actually 67/68). I still own a few, ...and I'm still heavily involved with them, judging at Carlisle's 1st gen Bowtie class, etc. The '67 at the proving grounds was mine before I sold it to GM.
