I'm not as knowledgeable as everyone else here, but I believe that in the 3rd Gen the RS was the Base V6 model (I had a 1991 RS).

In 1997 they introduced the RS as a body kit package with GFX and raised spoiler lip.

In 2002 I forget exactly what it was, but I believe it had a stripe package to it but no GFX. I like the RS name, but hate stripes on a car. I would have liked my 2002 Camaro to be an RS, but didn't want the stripes, and the GFX weren't available with the RS package. (Yeah, I like the 'racer boy' look of the GFX and raised spoiler. I loved the 4th Gen, but did think it was just a little unagressive looking without the GFX.)

I'm curious to see the Concept with a GFX package...

Yes the 3rd Gen RS was different depending on what year you are talking about, but it had become the base car by the end of the run. The 4th Gen RS package was only available on the base car and was really a combo of W68 and Y87. So... if the 5th gen has an RS should it be an option to all cars, the base car, or a midlevel car? I personally don't think that RS as used in the first gen really makes much sense.

Ah ok, sorry. I only knew a little about the 1991 and 1992 where the RS was just the base Camaro.

It made sense because thats what it was. An appearance package.

What didnt make sense to me was it was Rally Sport. What am I missing about an appearance package makes this car a rally car? Was it that the doors that covered the headlights protected them from rocks breaking the headlights during rally racing? Furthermore when Rally sport became a base car, that made it even less of a rally car.
