Saw a new Camaro on the freeway...

I was driving to work (for those in Michigan, I was on 14 East out of Ann Arbor) and I saw a new Camaro going the opposite direction. It was early in the morning and I didn't recognize it at first. As it got closer, I could make out the shape and the headlights. I didn't really put it together that it was a new Camaro until it passed me and I saw the tail lights.

Also, it had that black cover thingy that is supposed to hide the exterior from photographers. Why would it still have it on there? It's not like the exterior design is some secret. We all know what it looks like by now...

The production car won't look identical to the concept.

Are you sure? I mean, if anything the only new Camaros running around would be powertrain/chassis mules with different (C6?) bodies on them.

And that is EXACTLY what everyone told the guy that seen the Bumblebee Camaro outside Saleen's facilities. Who was eating crow on that deal?

It is very possible that he's telling the truth...

Why would you not believe him? It's not like the car hasn't been unveiled yet. The black covering very well could have been to protect the paint. Nice spotting though!

Some people still don't believe the car is coming, believe it or not. And those are from a few people in the 5th gen forum, who read the same stuff as everyone else, such as official press releases.
