The eye is not winking.

Trust me.

It wasn't a Camaro.

With exception of the Bumblebees (two of them) the Red Fiberglass, the Orange Convert, and the Silver coupe -- that's all that's on this continent.
A buddy of mine informed me that the transformer cars were actually not even pre-production vehicles, he said they were camaro bodies on a c5/c6 chassis.

I thought they were on a GTO chassis??? And Saleen made the body parts, or did GM make them?

GM supplied the 2 GTOs and the 5th gen panels. Saleen figured out how to and actually assemble them.

I'm starting to feel like I would have more credibility if I were to say I saw Bigfoot (which is also supposedly in Michigan). I know what I saw. I REALLY REALLY don't think it was a Challenger but it could have been. It looked REALLY close to the Photoshop picture I posted.

I'm not calling FBodFather a liar, I'm just saying what I think I saw. If he says there is no Camaro currently on the road, he might be right.

If it was going west on M14 out of Ann Arbor, I'd bet it was a Challenger heading out to Chelsea proving grounds. GM would send the Camaro to Milford - and M14 would definitely be the scenic route out there.

But really, Scott doesn't lie about this stuff - and there's no point to anyone lying about it. When there are camouflaged Camaro mules out there, there won't be a point to denying it because other people will be seeing it - lying just makes you look bad, and Scott's got too much credibility (and passion) on this board to do that to himself.

Were the door panels silver? If so, what you have described sounds just like the Challenger SRT mule photographed recently in the same area.

Well we believe you saw something. Its possible you saw something that hasn't been seen yet. Maybe another variant like the G8 (which is undisguised now) or a new Challenger/Charger, etc. They might have made the camo like that to make people think it was the new Camaro.

Steve I believe you saw something, but it evidently wasn't a General Motors sourced Camaro. There's quite a few things it could have been.

*A customized job on a 1st gen Camaro.

*A less cammoflaged Dodge Challenger with disguised tail lights (or for all we know, a production version that runs 'Cuda-like tail lights.

*Another upcoming GM coupe or sedan.

*It might have even been one of the Bumblebee cars.

*Finally, some automakers disguise their cars to look like something else, so it's not out of the question that you may have even seen the next gen Mustang.

There's a chance that tomorrow Scott might find out there actually IS a Camaro mule or prototype running around "on this continent" that he didn't know about. But he's pretty much up to his eyeballs in the project, so I'd put him at 90-95% that there isn't a Camaro proto running around NA right now.

That said, I would suspect there to be a Camaro running around for hot weather testing here this summer. It's winter down under, and the car's going to need to be finalized before the summer of next year if it's going into production next winter.

On the other hand, I remember when we were told Bumble Bee didn't exist......
GM didn't do "Bumblebee", Roush did. As mentioned off of the GTO.

You obviously don't know him. He has 2 modes: "Hints" and "Silence". He is also very very specific about answering questions.

maybe Lutz decided to drive the Silver concpet and mput camo on it to keep the bugs of it.... or maybe Ford has copied the car so they can bench test it...or a UFO.

Saleen built the Bumblebees -- there are two of them -- neither one was on M-14.

They are both on a GTO chassis -- the body panels are ever so slightly different due to the diffferent wheelbase and track.

They have automatic transmissions -- and are air conditioned. (the orange convert and silver coupe are 6-speeds and do not have any HVAC)

The bumblebees have a Camaro concept-like interior -- but they're primitive in that most surfaces are hard plastic rather than soft surfaces. The I.P. is very close to the concept but the I.P. pods have elect. instrumentation within them rather than the elaborate graphics of the concepts. The underhoods of the bumblebees are very primitive -- but the LS2 engine is unmistakeable.

The Silver car has not been driven on M-14 -- it's speed limited to about 40mph.........it HAS been driven on a handful of public roads -- primarily in Texas thru a park in Dallas (for running footage) and Woodward Avenue during the dream cruise.

There are NO running mules on this continent.

Trust me.

(and there are NOT three on the moon -- those three vehicles that you refer to are on the planet of Mars....so sayeth RedPlanet!.... )
