I love the car...don't get me wrong. I am just worried that by the time we can buy one...it will be yesterday's news to less "Camaro centric" people. How have new Beetle sales done anyway?
Actually I believe just the opposite. The 'less "Camaro centric" people' aren't seeing it as often as we are. Aside from Transformers, and if they went to a car show, they've hardly seen anything other than a few pics in an auto magazine. Something not everyone reads.

It will only be 'yesterday's news' to those here that may get tired of it, not the general public.

I agree with that statement. There hasn't really been any widespread marketing yet, aside from the movie and any promotional material and events that have gone along with the movie and car shows. The movie is probably the first time many people have seen the car. We see it everyday because most of us are on here multiple times a day. With the movie, the buzz is beginning to spread amongst the general public, but I think we'll see even more widespread interest once the marketing and PR campaigns kick into full gear. Just my $.02.

AT least 3-5 years of the 69 style would have been nice. To answer your question, in my opinion I dont think they knew what they had in 69. They did extend the run until Feb 70 though due to demand. If they had known they certainly would have got at least a few years out of that style. It was the end of the 67-69 style and they THOUGHT they were improving it by restyling it completely. as far as Im concerned 69 and 09 are the only models that I honestly care about.
