Sure, I like 3rd gens (even with their flaws). But I like alot of things. I like Ferraris, I like Rat Rods, I like Datsun 510's, I like Oldsmobiles, I like old Harleys - lots of things.

Just because I like those things doesn't mean I'd want a modern Camaro to be like them.

I'm not sure I understand what you're saying? Are you saying that if I found the new Camaro cosmetically irresistible, I wouldn't care about how it drove, how it handled, how it steered, how large it is, how it's interior looked, and how poorly I could see out of it?

If given a forced choice between a plain looking fun-to-drive car and a pretty but not-so-fun-to-drive car......... FUN-TO-DRIVE wins every time with me.

I think your choice of the word cosmic was probably read as cosmetic. I made the same error at first glance, thinking you were asking what we thought of the styling. Then I saw that you gave it a 4 and I thought, wtf?

Styling-wise, I'm probably at a 9+. The rear / taillights could be better, and the side windows should be about an inch taller (with the extra height going DOWN into the beltline, not raising the roof higher). But I turn my head WITHOUT FAIL every time I see an SS or RS. Even the LT's catch my eye, but the wheels are too small for the body.

Overall, I'm probably in the 8+ range. It's a bit heavy and could use better visibility, and the guages need to be redesigned so they aren't bisected by the wheel for us taller folks. Plus the interior could use some sprucing (though I don't think it is as bad as some reviewers apparently do).

Oh man Joe, you're probably right!

It would make the previous post make more sense to me.....

Z284ever just needs to get himself a turbo Miata.

Simply offering a decent performance suspension, tire, and wheel package as well as an interior redesign would probably satisfy 95% of the enthusiasts on this site.

I voted 7. I like it, and they're fun as heck to drive, but performance isn't where I think it ought to be (a 4th gen Z28 could keep up with a C5 on some race tracks -- there is NO race track where a 5th gen SS could keep up with a C6) and I have some practicality problems (specifically, visibility and trunk opening size). I'm not the biggest fan of the interior (I don't hate it, but I'd have to love it to give the car a higher score).

No surprises here:

If it's a 10, then there's no way anything else could be better. Pick one -- is the Camaro a 10 and the Hummer wasn't is good, or is the Camaro something less than 10 and the Hummer was better?

the camaro is a 10 to me and my favorite car next to the hummer. doesnt say anything less of how i feel about the camaro. its a 10 for me. if there were a vote for what we thought about the hummer, i would vote a 10 for it also. i love them both. best cars ive ever owned. the camaro can still be a 10 and i can like another car just as much or better. i like porsche 911 gt rs' also. id give that a 10 if i owned one.

Cool

Common guys, from 03-09 we would have taking any Camaro car. Now that we have a great car available to us we're choosing to nick pick the car. I just can't wait to pickup one of the 2010 models in a couple of years for 15-20K. If you guys are looking for perfection, dish out 100K for the Corvette ZR-1, but then again that car only sits two. I guess we can't have it all in this life.

Oh, by the way I, personally give the Camaro a 9.75!

I don't think you understand the concept of a 10. It means perfect, not possible to be better. Whether you agree on that or not, let's just clarify one thing:

Do you or do you not like your Hummer better than your Camaro?

if i like it just as much or better, it doesnt mean the camaro isnt a 10 to me. totally different comparisson as far as driving. why do you have to be such an internet douche about stuff?

can the car be better? who knows. to me its perfect. can other cars be better? sure. doesnt mean i dont think the camaro is a 10.

Charlie said that 10 is "cosmic perfectitude." That pretty much screams that there is no room whatsoever for improvement. If you like something else better, that means there's room for improvement. I think you're using a different 1-10 scale than what Charlie intended.

Because it's fun and I think it usually results in interesting conversation.

I think you think Camaro is a 10 because you haven't put enough thought into what it means to be a 10 (see comments re: "perfectitude" above).

I voted a 7.. it has it's flaws... all cars do... it's a great car.. it's not perfect and i believe no car is.. or no car is near perfect either.

Am i happy with it? BIG time.... do I look back and would buy again?? you better believe it.

It's a car for everyone?? not really.

wow.... you need another hobby. so i cant give any 2 cars a 10 because one has to be better than the other?man what a tough job these car magazines editors must have then. all those cars and only 1 best car. good thing you dont work for them. theyd probably all shoot themselves.

Not really. Although I'm pretty sure I'd enjoy a car like that, it's not my idea of a Camaro.

Sure, I was implying that a "10" means perfect, as in any possible changes would make it less desireable.

Personally, I can't really think of a car which is a perfect 10 to me. Even two of my fav's, the Ferrari 430 Scuderia and Ferrari 458 Italia probably come a teeny weeny teensy bit short of a perfect "10".

So in my personal view, perhaps "10" may be thrown around here pretty cavalierly.
