So if no T-Tops then how bout....

Re: So if no T-Tops then how bout....
The people who are arguing for either a sunroof or t-tops aren't looking at this from an engineering standpoint. Look at the roofline on this car. One of the first, (and I think one of the more defining characteristics of this model), things you'll notice is that the roof has a "double crease" in it. The problem with incorporating a sunroof into this design is that the additional lines that will be added to accomodate one will interfere with and detract from the subtle "edge" that the roof creases add to the car's overall design impact. At the least, you'll have to have a piece of glass that has the creases molded into it, but even with that you're adding more lines where the roof is cut out to accept it.
With t-tops it'll be even worse since you'll not only have the creases and the line running crossways but also an additional third line down the middle where the t-tops split and of course a molding strip to keep out leaks which will add even more lines to the roof scheme. Either way, it's going to look out of place, over-engineered, and tacky.
Let's be satisfied with a convertible model and call it a day.

Camaro has to be desirable to females. Females like sunroofs. Thus, GM will find a way to engineer/design it in. I woudn't look at any details of the concept as so final as to gate what would be a very popular option. Think of it this way, what sells more cars, creases in the roof, or sunroof option? What makes more profit, hardtop only, or optional sunroof?
Maybe there will be neither. I just can't believe Gm would close that door so firmly so early.

Just say no to sunroofs. I'm too tall for most sunroof equipped cars (and some SUVs). Sunroofs take up valuable head-room. I like the sun, but need to be able to drive without hitting my head on the lowered headliner.

LOVE my t-tops.
Even if for some strange reason I never took them off again I would still want them there.
Talon has a sunroof. Blah it's only used since I took the A/C out. But I could care less about a sunroof. It doesn't give you that open wind feel t-tops do.
A vert is nice but they look ugly when they are up. I can have an ugly car 90% of the time.
T-tops or nothing.
