Expectations are all over the map. Some expect it to be very heavy, others expect it to be fine but it seems it is more a matter of personal opinion on what is heavy and what isn't. In this day and age of CAFE and safety requirements, nothing is as light as it used to be. There's lots of other threads about the subject. We may know in a week.

Having driven one, it didn't feel heavy but I also didn't get it put it through its paces.

Considering bits and pieces of unfinished trim and other minor details, 90% production. Pre-production if you want to get technical, but powertrain believed to be near or even identical as production. Thanks for the reminder to clarify.

I'd expect it to weigh in around the same weight as the old CTS V6, around3600 pounds.

The slightly bigger Challenger V6 will be 3700 pounds.

Mustang V6 weighs in at 3400 pounds and is expected to go pretty much unchanged.

The G8 V6 weighs just under 3900 pounds.

That seems like a fair estimate to me.

I'm not saying you're wrong or anything seeing as how I've never cared to follow up on the V6 mustang but the Bullet in bare trim weighs in at 3420, wouldn't the V6 be lighter than that?

Also, my opinion, V6 Camaro will weigh in around 3600, the V8 close to 3900, and the Z28 if it ever sees the light of day will be over 4100.

The weight isn't as different as you'd expect between the Mustang GT and the V6 (depending on options). Can get within 60 pounds depending on just the transmission. Some of it is because most of the GT's pretty tough drivetrain is behind the V6.

The base V6 Mustang with manual weighs 3356. Add an automatic and it weighs in at 3420. The Mustang GT starts at 3480 manual and 3525 automatic.

In 2005, the V6 weighed 3375 with the manual and 3435 with the automatic, & the GTs weighed 3483 with the manual 3518 with the automatic.

There is alot of variance in Mustang GT's weight. While the base deluxe package weighs 3480, the premium package weighs well into the 3500 pound range.

The Bullitt Mustang is listed as weighing 3530.

GT500 weighs 3920.

All these numbers come from the Ford Motor Company.

None of the Camaro's will bw over 4000 pounds. The car is smaller than a D8 that with a V8 is just over 4000 pounds.

I am looking for a car with the V6 to be just under 3700 to the V8's at just over 3800 pounds depending on trim and tranny.

This car will weigh less than a Challanger per is a smaller car but more than a Mustang as it is a better standard equipt car. Things like IRS are standard in the base car.

I just realized that even back in 2002, the camaro v6 weighed more than the v8 GT.

2002 Mustang coupe
GT 5spd -3,273lbs
v6 5spd - 3,114lbs

2002 Camaro coupe
z28 6spd- 3,414lbs
v6 5spd - 3,323lbs

Looks like 2009/2010 will be a repeat with the camaro v6 again weighing more than the v8 GT. & if Ford carries over the current 300hp 4.6 over to the 2010 model year mustang (& assuming camaro debuts with 300+hp DI 3.6), a repeat of 1996 looks to be in order when the 3.8L v6 camaro made about as much hp and was as fast as the 4.6L GT's. Ford might want to get something a bit more powerful in the GT to save face. They can't wait till 2011.
