I have the Welly 1:18 4th gen SS and it doesn't look too bad.....not perfect, but not horrible.

I also have a 1:24 4th gen 35th Anniv. SS, but not sure of who makes it.

Maisto? Forget 'em......wouldn't even consider it. Another one (can't remember the name of the top of my head) would only agree to it if I bought 10,000 of them. (I had to remind him that GM is in the business of SELLING cars, not BUYING them....)

Welly came along and was pleased to do so. Yes, the proportions of the cowl forward are WAY off.........(and it made me crazy for a while...) but the alternative was to have NO diecast.................

so........God Bless Welly!

Remember....this is a concept at this point......there are not going to be a lot of takers that want to make diecasts at this point in time.........now...when the car actually gets produced, Katie, bar the doors!
Well...I hope GM doesn't forget about Welly in future.

I remember back a few years ago when the SSR was a concept there was tons of stuff made, in all scales, plastic, metal, R/C, etc. I am hoping Camaro gets some of the same treatment, but not over done as the SSR was because in a way by the time SSR hit production it was already old.

I am glad Welly made a 1:18th 4th gen, I own 2 of them a black one and a 35th Anniversary car. I just wish they got it right.

I dunno...after reading some of the posts in this thread, makes me wonder.

A Danbury mint car runs around $100+ if I am not mistaken, but therein lies the problem...not everyone wants to pay even $50 for a die-cast car.
Most of the time the body design is also used under license along with the name for instance the Corvette C6 plastic model by Revell states on the side of the box; "Corvette, the Cross Flag Emblem, all related Emblems and the related body design are General Motors Trademarks used under license to Revell Monogram, LLC"
I figured that means that GM has some final say in what there designs looks like before they release a model, but I could be wrong

Have Exact Detail make the diecast. Sure they'll cost about $120 plus but IMHO there is no better diecast maker on the market when it comes to limited production diecasts. I have a bunch of their 1st Gen Diecasts and they are very beautiful and detailed.

I haven't seen enough Exact Detail cars to form a completely accurate opinion, but I have had many Danbury cars in the past. The detail is amazing.

I have a few Auto Art models including an 04 Z06 commemorative edition and I would love to see them do a 5th gen. I would also be happy with some cheap Hot wheels or something. I would rather not have to pay $100+ but I have done it before.

You know it's funny....in the end the Muscletone wasn't too far off in overall shape.

I have a couple 69's (one's a Franklin mint), a 3rd gen Z28, and the 35th anniversary pictured above. I would love to have the concept as well. I've been trying to find a decent 2nd gen. Hmmm...either of those would make a good birthday present!
