So where are the Z/28 stripes?

I know it's been popular with the 5th Gen to put the dual stripes on the SS or really any Camaro someone wants to put them on. But really those were Z/28 stripes to signify it's racing heritage. In '67 it was the only visual cue for the first 602 Z/28's.

Now it's back for 2014 and supposed to be true to it's roots and yet no stripes?

Even the 1LE had a flat black hood. So where are the Z/28 stripes?

The Rally Stripe option has been deleted from all 2014 Camaros.

It's not a complaint just an observation. C'mon if the Z earned it's Slash back then I think it's earned it's Z/28 stripes.

Agreed. They put the Z28 stripes on the early 5th Gen Base and SS cars.

That's what I thought... however they're listed in the 2014 Camaro order guide... along with something called "full-length dual indy stripes".

I would have understood if they didn't bring back the stripes because of the new heat extractors in the hood. It'll be interesting to see what one looks like on the new hood and dare I say extend on to the upper front fascia now that the mailslot is gone.

I think the stripes fad is on its way out..... mustang pushed it out with a stripe on every panel of the car.....

I bet the "indy stripes" go over the bumpers.

What's interesting is that there appears to be body colored hood extractors available.

I saw that as well. I wonder what they'd look like on the 1LE.

Re: So where are the Z/28 stripes?

I saw the new Z/28 at the New York auto show. It is just incredible and I'm sure way out of my budget. As far as the Rally Stripes go, I never thought they got it right on the 5th gen. The hood stripes were not that bad but, I wouild of liked them to extend to the front fascia. The rear stripes just ended on it way up the rear spoiler. I never understood that. They should of extened over like on the second gens or concept. The Indy stripes will look like the ones on the pace car of 2011.

That was my presumption as well because Rally Stripes were definitely a popular option. I can't think of any good reason to not make them an option unless they couldn't make it work with new hood.

Traditionally Mustangs are the ones that have the stripes extending the full length of the body including the roof and the fascias (front and rear).

Camaro's on the other hand traditionally don't do roof or fascia striping. It just runs down the hood and trunk, that's it.

You are right on the Indy pace car having stripes that went all the way through... And it looked like a Mustang by doing so.

If you really want the stripes, you can have them painted on. I don't think that would void the warranty in any way.

Re: So where are the Z/28 stripes?

The "full-length dual indy stripes" appears to only be available with the RS option. I'm sure the aftermarket will provide "stripes" eventually, however it appears that unless things change, the Z/28 will remain "stripe-less".
