Sold the Camaro for down payment.

I sold my baby, don't let me down GM.
Anyone else prepairing for the ponycar wars?
I would like to see a 400hp vert for around 30k.
Do you think any manufacturers have this as a goal, or will they just base their goals off the stang?

Re: Sold the Camaro for down payment.

NO way you're going to get a V8 400HP vert for 30K. Probably be closer to $35K. GM is planning on pricing the Camaro competitively with the Mustang. I just hope it doesn't end up overpriced. Why would you sell your car now? You won't be able to get the new Camaro until sometime in 2009 with all the people trying to get on waiting lists and such.

Probably in Motor Trend

Prices will be in line w/ the 4th gen, adjusted for inflation over 7 years. Low to mid 30's for a V8 vert is my guess as well.

Re: Sold the Camaro for down payment.

I just sold my baby too (see link in my sig). My 5th gen wont be as fast (maybe someday it will), but something a little more driveable (more family road-trips) and A/C would be nice (maybe I'm gettin old )

Got the $$ invested in the meantime....should be a real nice downpayment.

Jason, why would you do a dumb thing like that! I saw your car at Woodward Saturday but didn't see you around anywhere.

Yeah, the rain really made things rough for me and Frezza so I went home for a little bit. Sorry I missed you, but we were there at 6:30 am and by 11 am, we were miserable and needed a change of clothes. I was soaked and the car looked like crap.

My car only has 5,400 miles on it, but I am thinking of looking for a new project plus I want to ensure I have a healthy down payment like the OP here.

Re: Sold the Camaro for down payment.

5400 miles?!?!?! You need to drive that thing more!!! I'm planning on getting a 5th gen whenever the hype dies down some and I can pick one up for employee pricing. I'm hoping to pick up my dad's 85 IROC between paying off my car next year and getting a new one. I gotta build a barn in there somewhere too so I have a place to park them all! Anybody have tips for winning the lottery?

a V6 mustang starts at 19995. How are they going to make a v8 for 21k in 2 years. The V6 at that time might be up to 21k. Heck, a Solstice GXP is supposed to start at 25995.
