An evolution of the 4th gen for this idea would be clutch. I think a v8 (not the top dog V8 but a v8 option) Fingers crossed . Gm dollars pileing up.

I'm mostly in favor of a Firebird that would be larger than a Solstice, but smaller than a Camaro.

That's what I would like as well. Also why I'm interested in that per GuionM, GM at least internally has some engineers pushing for a Kappa based coupe. Hopefully this comes to fruition.

Exactly. There might be some hope afterall. I realize in GM's current financial situation, plus GM is already throwing massive amounts of resources to get the GMT-900's out, Zeta etc, that this will be on the backburner for awhile. But at least there's hope.

Yes, that's right. Grand Am was the replacement. Always getting them mixed up. Thanks for correcting me.

That would make sense...

So would a firebird that has more interior space than a Corvette but less than a GTO. I think thats a better analogy as Pontiac is in name a "Performance Division" so ~400 hp by the time this thing comes up would be better even if from a FA V6. I think at around 30k it could sell...

Re: Solstice sized Firebird\T/A

I don't think that G.M., or anyone else, could produce 400 hp from a v-6 that they would be willing to warrant. But the car couldn't have that much anyway or it would be stepping on both the Camaro's & GTO's toes. That's why I propose a small v-8 as the top engine option. If they could hold the v-8 model to ~3200 lbs. combined with an LS-4 that makes 325 hp, then you would have a pretty sporty 2=2 that doesn't tread on the 'maro or the Goat, & stays off of the G-6's territory too. I would also hope that a v-8 option Firebird would sticker under 30K as well!
