Soooo, I saw a Camaro yesterday....

No big deal, but I haven't seen a new Camaro on the streets of Chicagoland in many weeks. For awhile there, I'd see several per day - then suddenly, none.
I realize in snow country, people put their toys away for the winter. Be that as it may, I've seen salt covered C6 Corvettes, a red SSR today, a Ferrari through snow flurries last week, Challengers, Mustangs, Porsches, etc., but no Camaros.
Does this mean that few "regular" folks are buying them and using them as primary transport? Seems that way to me.

I didnt read all the replies, so maybe this was brought up, but one huge reason you haven't seen any (at least SS's) is because GM felt it wasn't needed to even OFFER an all-season tire on the SS model either standard or optional. They all come only with summer only tires... or at least that was the case a few months ago if something has changed, which I doubt.
So? I daily drove my car from '96 - '03 in Philadelphia area traffic without ever changing from the GSCs or some sort of BFG I seem to remember having on the car. All Z rated performance summer tires.
Yes it sucked. Yes I'm hardcore. Yes I'm even more stupid (actually I was living in a condo at the time and didn't have room for another set of tires anyway).
But....it's not like the car will explode if you drive in the snow without a set of Blizzaks. Besides, does this car not have stability control and traction control standard? My car lacks both of those and yet here I am to tell the story.
It simply came down to this is the car I wanted and these are the things I will have to put up with in order to have it.
So yeah, I think this points to the fact that, at least right now, there are fewer "regular" folks buying them and using them as primary transport. Either that or everyone raised on SUVs is afraid to drive a Camaro in the winter.

I drove my Camaros in several Michigan winters. I felt worse about how dirty they would get in the salt, snow and sludge because I actually kind of enjoyed winter driving. When else is oversteer around every turn generally accepted by other drivers and the police. I drove a snowy winter of 2001 in a 6M SS with bald Nitto drags and my biggest worry was getting stuck since the car becomes a snow plow in only a few inches of accumulation.
I'm not sure if people are softer today or if they are just not seeing the risk of winter travel is worth the reward of driving a Camaro like we did.

It must just be a weather thing up north. No shortage of them down here driving year round, though I do drive the truck during bad weather days. Why mess up the good stuff when you don't have to?
My '92, '01, '02 F-bodys, and C5 were all daily drivers, regardless of the weather FWIW.

I see about 5-10 a week . V6 cars though . Ive seen more Ferrari's and Mazerati's than Camaro SS's . 1 599gtb salt covered and a new mazerati coupe covered in snow driving thru the snow ....that would mean Ive seen 0 Camaro SS's since fall really .

There is a yellow RS V6 being driven here year round, but then that car was listed around $40k so i doubt that person can afford another car.I store my 94 beginning of Oct.&bring it out in end Apr/May.I used to drive old winter beaters like 81 Malibu/77 Nova, but those 2 bit ya when they get real old(poor bodies, etc)so i bought a 99GTP&this satisfies my desire for speed till i bring out the 94Z28.Btw we just had a big snowstorm& the Gtp was great.Btw having the 94 in storage also saves big bucks on insurance.

No, I only mean that Camaros are year round cars down here. That obviously isn't the case up north. So I would assume that the reason more Camaros aren't seen in your neck of the woods is because of the weather, not because of "different kinds of owners" or whatever the OP described them as.
