Re: T-Tops or 1 Piece removable top?

i cant believe anyone could and would buy a camaro, but then say they wont just for the lone fact that they wont offer t-tops or a targa top. My car now doesnt have them, and i would love to have them, but just because they dont offer them, wont keep me from buying a camaro.

My vote for targa! I have had three different f-bodies and two had t-tops but the targa is def a better idea! Oh and I would definetly buy one even if there wasn't an option but better yet I would have fun kickn someones a$$ in a race if they bought some other car just cause they couldn't get "open roof!!

There's one major problem with a targa.......

One would have to be about 6 feet 7 inches tall -- and be relatively muscular in order to be able to remove it from the car.

A Camaro is relatively wide.....esp. the roof panel.....and it's higher than a Corvette.......which would make the roof panel extremely unwieldy......

I spose, you have a point.

JMO, but t-tops on this car would look about as good as an unpainted fiblerglass bodykit.

Somebody photoshopped T-tops onto the concept, and I thought it looked pretty good. I'll see if I can find the pic...

EDIT: no luck.

I thought a Panoramic sunroof like the G6 has could be pretty cool.

I agree 100% Hey, maybe Chevy will offer free mullets with the t-top option. I'll take mine without please.

Re: T-Tops or 1 Piece removable top?

Since t-tops would, when on, look like the original roof, and when off, aren't dead sexy looking anyway on any of the previous cars (exposed painted sheet metal doesn't turn me on, just MO), I don't see where the appearance is an issue.

Its a convenience factor, and verts obscure the body lines when not open. Thats why I'm not a fan.

Re: T-Tops or 1 Piece removable top?

I have one word regarding this...Caravaggio. Now, GM may not make it available but the aftermarket may. They have been doing this with the Z06 since 2001. Scott makes a great point about size, which begs another question. Where would you put something this size if you are traveling? If you have a panell that big it's going to chew up a lot of space (check a Vette when the panel is locked in the back). We all know we will have a choice when the time comes (vert, coupe, maybe sunroof), but it needs to look aesthetically pleasing as well. One option doesn't make the car....unless you arew talking about no V8.

How about saying the North American muscle car is back! Us Canadians like muscle cars too, I'm just glad it is being built in North America and not somewhere south of your border or over seas. Maybe we take more pride in our work, I don't know but Oshawa was picked for a reason. I don't know if I'm the only one thats getting sick and tired of this crying that its being built in Canada, come on get over it! Sorry to hijack the post but thats my rant for today.

P.S. I like the T-Tops option

Re: T-Tops or 1 Piece removable top?

I'm thinking targa but I know there will be neither so I guess a c6 is my next option. We'll see.

Is there a place in the vette for the targa top to sit like the 4th gen fbody???

Re: T-Tops or 1 Piece removable top?

Okay, so Scott pretty much just said no targa top. And when Scott comes right out and says "no", he's always right. So no targa top.

Has Scott said anything about no t-top?
