If the targa is out, can I vote for a hardtop convertible?

I am with you Scott, some type of convetible is in my future. But I don't know if its going to be a 5th gen vert, or one of the hard-top verts, Pontiac G6, or a used 6-speed SSR.
Its not going to be a Saturn Sky which I feel in love with until I test drove one because I couldn't hardly steer it because the steering wheel was so low it was rubbing against my legs and blocking the view of the gauges. One of the disadvantages of being tall, I guess.
But I wish there was going to be a targa or T-Top option on the 5th, I think its just part of the car.

I hope we can at least get something better than a conventional sunroof...
The G6 roof might be nice, or even just panoramic glass, something like two of whats in the Maxima...

well being a member of family with 2 camaros, one with t-tops (my bros) and one without (mine) i can say this.
I love the t-tops a whole lot. when theyre off its a lot easier getting in and out (especially to the back), gives u the feeling of a vert, the saftey of a roof (in the insanely unlikelyhood of a rollover). and it just looks cool...
but...
when i go back into mine, i honestly dont miss it that that much.i almost never even think about it. Im fine without them.
that said, Scott, ill take a convertible 500 hp 5th gen please

As much as we love America we all have to admit that there are many obstacles placed on businesses/corporations here. Workers Compensation costs are throught the roof, Labor Unions drive up costs and the price of Medical Benefits are astronomical. Canada has free health care and that alone probably makes it more economical to build in Canada. As long as it is engineered here in the USA and made from high quality parts I have no problem with it being built in Canada.

As far as T-tops vs Targa. I wouild be fine with neither. I would rather the engineering $ and option cost go to somthing else performance related.

That one gets a thumbs up from me! More performance - Less weight!

I want T-Tops.
Targas have their place, but the storage issues are hard to overcome, and I don't want to have to deal with lifting a panel that big. The Vette's is fine, but anything bigger just won't work.
