A Thanksgiving Message.....

A Thanksgiving Message.....
Good evening, my friends.
This week, many of us will be traveling to visit with loved ones to celebrate the Thanksgiving Weekend. Others will anxiously await the arrival of friends as they gather in their homes.
Unfortunately there are many others who will be by themselves. Let’s remember them. Stop by and visit them -- or pick up the phone and let them know that they matter.
Others are serving in the armed services --many of them in faraway lands -- so that that we (that’s you and me) can enjoy the freedom that allows us to travel the world -- and worship whatever religion or beliefs we hold. Let’s say a prayer for them that they’ll be safe and return to their families and loved ones.
We have so very much to be thankful for -- and yet in the hurry and fevered pitch of our lives, we often forget......
No matter how you look at it -- we have the best collective standard of living the world has ever known. We have abundance that is the envy of the world. (don’t believe me? go into your local grocery store and just look around....)
.........as I mentioned above, we have the freedom to practice whatever religion or beliefs that we hold ......without the threat of disappearing into the night, never to be seen again. (ever notice that people are trying to come to our country -- yet few -- if any -- break the law to enter countries that abuse and control their citizens.....)
Yes -- we have so much for which to be thankful.....the list would overwhelm this thread......so let‘s just say “let’s not forget.”
As you sit for dinner on Thursday, please take the time to really think about your life. Perhaps it’s time to let go of pettiness. Perhaps it’s time to let those around you know how much they mean to you. Perhaps this is the time to let them know.........
As you travel this weekend -- please -- take it easy. If you’re tired while driving, pull over and rest for a moment. Get a cup of coffee or a beverage (NON-ALCOHOLIC, please....) -- walk around -- and then continue on your journey. The Thanksgiving Weekend is the heaviest traveled weekend in the United States.............
Watch out for the other guy.....always make sure you have an ‘escape route’ as you drive.
Naturally, you know I’m gonna harp on the importance of safety belts.......put them on -- always -- all the time -- no excuses.
As for me? My list of things to be thankful for is endless......but let me say this:
----I’m thankful that I have you as my friend -- and you mean the world to me.
God Bless and have a great Holiday weekend............

Best wishes to everyone. We've got MANY thanks in our house for Thanksgiving, including my son Jason's sixth birthday, my wife Laura's 41st birthday, my sister in-law's new job offer, our health, and a big fat check in the mail!!
