look again

for the record i'm just talking about the plastic looking front end. notice the deep set headlights, bring them forward and make them round. they need to make the whole grill taller by bringing the bottom down making the bumper part smaller. it doesnt look like a first gen. i have seen the car in person at the detroit auto show and outside of diehard camaro fans most people dont really like the new model.
i love the rest of the car.

look at this front end

which looks better?
the new front end doesnt look anything like this.

If you want the scoop get an after market hood. The front scoop is likely to be on the top end model anyway.

Re: try again

Sorta actually, but not as much as a 1st gen. influence. Definitely shows it's pancake looking width though.

Re: try again

No resemblance whatsoever... probably isn't necessary to swear in that chop shop picture either.

Re: try again

Kris Hortons design is a very good design, however, the Camaro Concept looks much better and in my opinion, looks nothing like a either of the pics you posted. It looks alot like a 1st gen, which its supposed to. Im not a HUGE fan of the scoop where it is, but I dont have any problem with it either. Plus, with the cowl hood, I think it all flows and works.

Re: try again

It's THAT RENDERING again!!

I thought the new Camaro had a bit of Monte in it too, but I liked the Monte so I don't care.

See it in person.

Re: try again

It is not going to change. What we saw is what we will get. Chevrolet has said there will be NO CLINICS on the Camaro. Only things that will change is those that are necessary to meet and Federal Requirements.

No more clinics because its such a home run. That doesnt mean its not getting tweaks based on feedback.

the new front end doesnt look anything like this.

In the first set of images, I don't really see the comparison.

In the second set, while that concept is somewhat attractive, it looks (to me) SO close to a new Mustang in front that I could never like it for a Camaro. The front is much too flat. The actual Camaro Concept has a predatory look with that sharp point. Much like a bird of prey (that would be even a better analogy if a Firebird was in the works too). Anyone know what a Roc is? Giant bird of prey that could eat mustangs for breakfast.

Regarding an analogy for the Firebird. If GM does revive the Firebird I hope they take the whole 'Phoenix always rises from it's own ashes' take on it.

I never liked the description of the Phoenix on the hood as a 'Screaming Chicken'. Degrades the powerful image of the Phoenix imo.

Personally I think your suggestions are totally off. The car looks very aggressive w/ the lights pushed back into the grill and slightly obscured. Having them completely round w/ a thicker grill would be a huge step back IMO. It's not supposed to be a copy of the 69 grill BTW, it's supposed to remind one of the original and have a good bit of thirdgen maybe some second gen in it with the pointed design of the grill, which it does and is not a bad thing IMO...

If you look at it sitting next to a 69 the new Camaro looks wayyyy more aggressive and sporty, in fact it really makes the 69 look old and plain... The air scoop thing could go and I wouldn't really care, but it looks alright to me.

Kris Horton's concept looks worse and worse everytime I see it. It looks too cartoonish with the shape and proportions or something, the front end is borderline horrible. The new Camaro concept looks much better IMO.

i have seen the car in person at the detroit auto show and outside of diehard camaro fans most people dont really like the new model.
From what I've seen people writing GM has gotten a huge amount of positive feedback from all types on this thing. Seems like Mr. Settlemire stated it was a huge success, rivaling most any concept they've put out. I believe you've got it wrong...
